Just said 3% - 4% on annual basis, but does that exclude gas, groceries, and housing?
Things I buy all the time at the local grocer have doubled but my income has not kept up. Seems BOTH parties have been feeding us BS in a post c19 Era.
What are prices like where you live?
Discuss.

Things cost money. The price for each thing goes up and never down. News at 11.

really boy? doubled? i paid $2.36 a pound for boneless skinless chicken breast at walmart yesterday can't remember them being that cheap. if you can't literally afford grocery's then you have a "you" problem, not a "we" what do you do for a living boy?
have you looked into applying for SNAP?

Real time inflation is closer to 3 percent. Bls puts a lot of weight on housing data that lags behind.
We have actually seen broad disinflation.

How many dollars in circulation
—————————————- = 8%
How many dollars printed / year
You’re discussing commodity prices

$1.99 for the same thing here in expensive Maryland. Chicken is cheap as hell but it's an outlier.

sure but if you actually live in alaska which i doubt every thing in that unpopulated schithole is expensive because it's all imported, fyi bought ground round yesterday for $4.99 a pound at edwards in little rock. it's a local grocery, they always have stuff on sale.

Inflation should be zero.
The fact that we have been programmed to accept it is an interesting dive into sociology and economics.
I don’t have the time, but would be an interesting thread one day.

Inflation is cumulative. Next month's published rate is the devaluation of our imaginary currency this month over how much buying power the "Dollar" lost over last month.
Since we came off the gold standard, the cumulative inflation rate is almost 800%.

I don't know but my city just approved, very grudgingly, a 14% rate increase for Atmos Energy (natural gas) prices. State law is prohibitive to not accepting the requested price increase. If they refuse, then they'd have to fight an expensive legal battle with the Texas Railroad Commission that would cost the city more than the increase, and they'd likely lose to the deep pocket energy companies.

i was 10 when we left the gold standard, i'm 65 now. the S&P was 107 on its close in 1971 yesterday it closed at 7718 up 800 points YTD and gold is down $1400 dollars an ounce since it's all time high earlier this year.
imagine what we'd be saying about the S&P if it were down over 30% this year.
gdp in 1971 was 1.15 trillion, today it's 33.5 trillion and median income $87,460 is at an all time high and ron paul is an idiot.

Ironically enough the Chinese are saving us
The Chinese took over our pork industry so pork is cheap and they’re working on chicken now
The reason beef is so expensive is because the American packing industry is owned by Brazilians
Save us president xi

Seems odd that you do your routine of pointing out someones possible financial situation, implicating that you have a better situation, and then you go on and say you shop at Walmart and pay attention to exact price per pound of some of the lowest quality supply chain products of any supermarkets. Sounds a bit of empty rhetoric to build up your lackluster self image
