Is it lack of playmakers, youth, scheme, or maybe a combination of all three?

Yes, they can only have 11 players on defense.

When just about everyone looks bad, it’s coaching

We replaced all 5 starting DBs from last year with subpar talent.

The talent isn’t up to LSU standards but it’s not nearly as bad as we are seeing on the field.

It's always a combo but the biggest issue (IMO) is simply lack of talent and poor development of the talent they do have.

They don’t play with a drop linebacker.

Go watch carter power hour film breakdown on YouTube. It’s scheme, fundamentals, and talent.

We had about 1000 missed tackles and it’s possible Greg Penn and a few others forgot to wear cleats with how much they slipped

Come on now.

House’s defense came though last year.

We need a dLine coach.
We need playmakers in the backfield.
Chestnut, Harris, JK, Welch don’t equal:
JB Converse, J Ward, M garner.

You cannot scheme this weak of a backfield.

I think it can be boiled down to lack of leadership, both player and coach. There is no alpha dog on this defense. That should be Perk, but I think he has some maturing of his own to do.

We missed 30 tackles during the Ole Miss game. Players were in position and just whiffed. And if one of you dumb asked say "blame coaching" Sage Ryan has been here 4 years. If you think 4 years in at LSU, you still need to be taught how to tackle, you are insane. Lack of commitment. Lack of heart. Lack of leadership from the defense. They play soft, they play scared. No amount of coaching is going to get rid of that.

Kelly said it during the preseason. We need leaders. We need players who are going to hold others accountable, and we don't have that. Defense is celebrating getting 4 yard stops. Perkins is standing over people when he makes a tackle past the line of scrimmage, asks like he won the super bowl on his one sack a game. Our team has no soul. Just a bunch of NIL bitches afraid to get hurt.

They got boat raced by Tenn, Florida in the 2nd half, A&M, and Georgia - even Bama in the 4th quarter was going up and down the field

But you mouth breathers were too busy saying Daniels and Denbrock were the problem

When every postion on your defense is this bad it ain't a talent issue

It really is everything. If you watch any of the film reviews it’s as bad as you think.
