Try and get 3ip from him.

Then bring in Skenes and see how far he can go.

Shoot for +/- 85pitches. If the game is close and he feels good, push him to the end.

Added to include the Pitch Smart Guideline recommendations

Skenes is going 100+ pitches tomorrow bro. Why would you frick around in an elimination game?

You need the mental edge of having your horse gripping it and ripping it in the 1st inning. Skenes is going deep anyways.

Well to be honest, the fricked around in the last two elimination games and won with the pen.

But I know what you mean.

If that's an idea you definitely go opposite. Assume Skenes goes 6-7 and shuts them down, get a lead, pressure on them. You don't plan it in a way that might get you behind by starting the backup

So not only are we pulling Skenes out of routine with a quick turn around you want him in a spot he hasn’t been all year? If Skenes is pitching tomorrow he is starting. Johnson showed he isn’t willing to take Skenes out routine. One thing to have him pitch. Another to have him in bull pen.

well how do they want to handle Skenes on 4 days rest?

If it's not limit you prob start him.

If not, you bring him in relief and play it by ear. Push him if you have to. Little bit easier decision on when to pull him, imo

I dont think you can expect him to pitch a full game

Honestly if the wind is blowing in, Money could get your 6-9 outs. Maybe get through the order twice if they are contact outs and not HRs.

I wouldn’t hate it,

Also could work if Hurd is on and we get a lead we could try to use our pen and then have Skenes and Floyd for game 1 and 2

I wouldn’t hate it either, but hindsight 50-50 if he gets in trouble early?

What on earth.

If Skenes pitches tomorrow, he starts and goes as long as he can.

Skenes has a very specific pregame routine. Don't jack with it.

It’s win or go home. LSU will be favored with Skenes on the mound. You don’t come out the losers bracket by playing for the next game.

Why not do the reverse? Unless you want to start Hurd and see if he can take you 7 innings?
