This is still Paul's team, dipshit! Jay is doing the best he can with talent that doesn't belong in an SEC baseball uniform. We have a better record than Paul's last season with us, but go ahead and keep making an arse of yourself. It makes the board entertaining, and that's what the mods alters are doing very well. They make shite posts so dumbass fans like you will reply with a totally out of the box shite post, and expose yourself for the fool you are. That is what makes The Rant great!

Yeah you’re right, it’s the 2018 #3 recruiting class, 2019 #8 recruiting class, 2020 #2 recruiting class, and 2017 #7 recruiting class, and you want to act like there’s no talent while watching multiple 1st round picks play.

My comment was strictly on how bad we looked on a weekend that we were fighting for a regional and super regional host spot.

For baseball- winning
For football- all night games, less traffic headaches
For basketball- that ship has sailed

Baseball - 1.LSU has to make it a better fan experience. The Box is bland and the Marshals are dicks. They have made it miserable going to see a baseball game over the last couple years.
2. We’ve got to get back to being a perennial top 8 seed contender. Haven’t been in the conversation for a top 8 in about 5 years. Paul let it slip.

Football- I used to think it needed to be all night games, but that’s just not the case. It all comes down to traffic. The 11am Florida game was one of the most enjoyable games I’ve been to. I’m starting to really enjoy the day games, because you can wait out the traffic and grab a drink.

Basketball - Ship hasn’t sailed. Just time for a newer smaller arena. Once again improve the fan experience.

LSU really made an all time bad decision increasing the capacity at Tiger Stadium. That money should have funded improvements to the big 3 facilities as a whole. They could have brought all of our facilities into the 2020s in regards to fan experience and technology, but they wanted 100,000 seats. They fricked that up bad and we haven’t been able to recover just yet.

TBH, LSU taking the stance it did on masks last season made me never want to attend another sporting event.

LSU did this to themselves.

They should have seen it coming before major expansions but whenever every game is on tv most aren’t going to fight with the things already discussed. I’m guessing LSU isn’t the only one who did this.

It’s 2022. It’s a digital world now. All college sports are on the decline as it relates to in person attendance. It will never get better.

There are a lot of things that contribute, but here are a few, most are obvious:

1.) Win. And we're talking baseball right now, but I mean all sports. All of the crap that LSU has had to deal with in Football and Basketball does spill over to create general apathy with the program. Winning in one sport helps put the fans in a better mood and it carries over to the others.

2.) Better seats. The Box is past due for an upgrade and, frankly, there were questionable design decisions made when they built it in the first place. I've put my ideas on this out here before and for years I have sat in the stands and pictured what it would look like if they implemented them. There have been other solid ideas posted here as well. The Box could be so much better. And implementing those ideas should be about improving the overall experience and not driven by "how many more premium level seats can we sell to make money".

3.) Better concessions. Baseball was the last bastion of decent concessions due in large part to the fact that they had lettuce and tomatoes and onions and other stuff that you could dress your burger or hot dog with. Seems simple enough, but it was honestly the difference between having a pretty good Tiger Burger and having a shitty piece of meat stuck on a bun. And don't give me that "we gave it up because of COVID" bullshite when, at the same time, they changed the general concessions to cafeteria style where the food is out on the line.

And I know some smart arse is going to make a comment like "oh, yeah, blame it on concession, right", but the fact is that each of these things that contribute to the experience matters. You are now competing with everyone being able to watch every game on TV in the comfort of their homes with good food and comfortable seats and their own bathroom.

And the game on Saturday was the lowest turnout I think I’ve ever seen to tv for an lsu game in May.

1. We have to find a way to get the students involved. The students have the worst seats and are continuously hassled by the Marshals. Give the students some free stuff and freedom to be kids.

2. The bullpens need to be moved to the outfield so we don’t get a player paralyzed.

3. The grandstand unused seats need to be sold to people who will use them. I bet the gold seats are never more than 50% filled. Let people sit there after the top of the 3rd if the ticket holder doesn’t show. The regular grandstand outside the Gold Section is never full either. Apply the same rules. You hardly ever see grandstand seats on sale on Stub Hub. Those seats just go unused.

4. The bleachers need to be raised and made mor comfortable. Any effort to shade these areas would be a plus.

5. Obviously we have to win. The jury is still out on Johnson. His coaching style is annoying to me and maybe to others.

6. Political issues still hamper the enthusiasm to an extent and the attitude that the players are all in it for NIL and what’s in this for me is a problem for all sports.

There are more obstacles to returning to the baseball glory days but improving the fan experience will sure help. LSU should incentivize the non attending season ticket holders to get the tickets to people who will come.

In the last 10 SEC series over two seasons, we are 3-7 at The Box. Our team and our atmosphere doesn't scare anyone anymore.

LSU football during the DAY with PIM.

Wild horses couldn't drag me in. (Even if I still lived in BR or Mandeville)

Win and the fans will come. I expect this year the fans will come around more because of Brian Kelly and the hope for a better outlook.

We don't need to win every game we just need to be competitive and the fans will come.

You can’t rely on having a super team each year. Frankly, you are lucky to have one in any given decade.

But you need to give a team that is fun to watch. This team isn’t fun to watch unless you like to see the coaches making mound visits.

An enjoyable team hits homers, and we do that. An enjoyable team had several rallies with two run doubles, bases loaded singles and lots of action. We don’t see a lot of that.

Fans like stolen bases, and fast base runners. We don’t steal and we really don’t feature base running.

Fans hate errors and bad baseball. We make a ton of errors, screw things up on pop ups and give up a lot of PBs/WPs.

Fans like a pitcher who is dealing. One who is throwing strikes, getting guys out and keeping our opponent from long innings. We don’t have many guys who can do that inning after innning, thus we see a lot of mound visits.

The brand of ball we are playing thus year isn’t the kind of ball fans in general like. Other than the home runs and some quality relief, there hasn’t been much to really get the crowd fired up.

Nope. Not when you can watch the game on your comfy sofa and watch on your 80in tv.

Johnson's pace of play and 4 hour games aren't helping. I consider myself a baseball "purist" so I get his philosophy and it doesn't bother me much. But to the average fan, dragging out the game the way he does isn't exactly going to get them interested.
