What are your 3 unknowns that will determine whether LSU great or just good

Mine are
1. Sam Leavitts health
2. The Oline's ability to run block
3. The interior DL ability to stop the run
We do not know how any if these shake out. If all 3 are good to go from game 1, this could be an 11-1 regular season.
If none if them come to pass it could be as bad as 7-5.
History tells us Kiffin will have the Oline humming or be able to scheme around it.
We have reason to hope with additions on the Dline that they will be good.
That likely means it comes down to Leavitt being and staying healthy.

Can't disagree with any presented. All will improve from last year and over the season. The speed that these come together will be the most important to have a great season, though.

1. Leavitt’s health/rust
2. D-line’s ability to get pressure with 4. This was our biggest weakness on defense last year. If Baker doesn’t have to rely on the blitz so much the defense should be great.
3. O-line gelling - Only reason this is third and not higher is because if Leavitt is healthy then his mobility plus Kiffin’s creative offense will make life a little easier on the o-line.

1. Sam Leavitts health
Sam Leavitt's proficiency from the pocket. Kiffin needs to elevate his play here. We need Leavitt to look more like JD year 2 than JD year 1 when it comes to style.
If Leavitt is always running from the pocket, we won't see the real benefits of Kiffin's offense.

2. The Oline's ability to run block
The OLs ability to run block and pass block. This is not a given. And, nothing else matters if we get OL play like last year.
3. Sam Leavitts health
If the first 2 happen positively, the only other thing that could sink this team would be QB health.

I really wanna see more Charles Ross when we play running qbs. Get he was a freshman last year but he has 10.3 speed at lb no qb in the country beating him sideline to sideline

1.) QB
2.) O-Line
3.) Does Kiffin take the points on 4th down or does his ego take over and he makes the wrong decision to geaux for it. Happened many times at Ole Myth.

1. Oline play
2. Number of interceptions by Leavitt
3. Injuries; especially at QB and CB

1 offensive line
2 defensive line not as much as offensive line concerns
3 depth on both lines
Not concerned about qb. I think Sam is fine but if not we have capable backups and Lane as coach.

I really only need one unknown:
How many sacks and TFL's will we have at year end?
If we get great pressure with our front 4, especially Princewell and Geralds, and total overall we get north of 40 sacks - we are playoff bound for sure. TFL's and sacks are drive killers, and with the offense Kiffin brings turning it right back over to him will win us alot of games.
Not worried about offense at all.

We have the coaches who have lead the SEC and Top 10 NCAA in rushing last several yrs… this is not a concern to me now. Could be later.
Pass rush
Safety play in the box
QB/WR chemistry.

IF LK's offense is clicking like we all hope and expect, the only other thing I'm really interested in seeing is a much more physical team overall.
running physically, attacking and tackling physically, getting down and dirty on both lines. I want LSU to be known as that physical presence like when Urban Meyer said "when LSU gets off the bus, they just look different".
great offenses are fun to watch, but like 2023, when you can't stop anyone you feel weak and helpless. lets have a great offense and an extremely tough team all around.

1. Sam's health. If he's not ready LSU's season is doomed. I don't think the guys behind him are ready, especially after media had so much access in spring. Good news is he's reportedly one of the hardest working players on the team.
2. OL play all itself big questions on the right side of the line right now.
3. RB play. Durham was extremely disappointing last year though he did seem to get better second half. As bad as the line was he missed many easy runs for big gains. His vision is questionable. Berry has major fumble issues. The Wisconsin RB we got in the portal was reportedly Kiffin's favorite and with 1s in spring. He looks like a steal, imo.
Honorable Mention: WR it has been entirely gutted so completely unsure what we have here. Offense seemed to be slow most of spring by media reports which isn't unexpected with a new team there.
