I’m being facetious, but, can we really expect these highly paid players to play in a little rain?

In NCAA baseball, decisions regarding weather delays and whether or not to start a game due to inclement weather are typically made by the home team, with the umpire ultimately having the authority to suspend or resume play once the game has begun. Before the game starts, the home team's athletic director or designee decides if the game can begin, taking into account field conditions and weather. Once the game is in progress, the umpires have the authority to make decisions about delays and suspensions due to weather, including lightning.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Before the game:
The home team's athletic director or designee determines if the game can start based on field conditions and weather.
During the game:
The umpires have the authority to make decisions about weather delays and suspensions, including lightning delays.
Team agreements:
Before the game, the home and visiting teams can agree on specific guidelines and protocols related to weather delays and lightning safety.
NCAA guidelines:
The NCAA provides guidelines for lightning safety, including recommendations on when to suspend play and resume activities after lightning or thunder.
Safety first:
The primary focus of weather delay decisions is player safety, especially regarding lightning.

They should get the show in the road. The weather here in DFW is going to be bad tonight…most likely that will head to BR.

I wish there was an alternate universe where this same delay was happening for an LSU game at another venue to see the reaction around here.

Not one single person on here would be defending it

So it isn’t a random NCAA guy. Thanks for posting this. Many people here think LSU/Jay have zero influence when in fact they do.

if hes the one doing it then I hope he continues it so we never have even a slim chance of losing eyanson an hour after the start of the game.

Good job in not losing some of your personnel advantage, Jay!!!

Tony LaRussa used to do this when he was manager of the St. Louis Cardinals. The St. Louis newscasters would come on and explain that until the game had started, the decision to postpone was in the hands of the local stadium officials and that once the game started it was in the hands of the umpires.

LaRussa never missed a trick and was a proven winner just like Johnson is.
