re: We still going to deny that Jay missed on a lot of portal guys?

You stupid mother_uckers wanted to crown this club last week after it took 2 from Tenner at Tenner. Now after tonight’s loss this club is horrific and has no shot? Short-sighted morons!

Who is denying? Welcome to the world of the transfer portal. You have hits and you will have misses.
No shite. The misses are literally what prompted this thread. You just confirmed my point.
I never said Jay always misses. I said he missed on this group.

Kinda sounds like a blessing and a curse.
You can go on and win a national championship, but at the same time everybody else is scooping up all the best portal players for next year while you are left with scraps when the CWS is over. And now the following years team sucks arse and has to suffer for it. Mighty hard to be consistent the way it’s set up right now.

Partially right, but there is something else wrong with this team. You can see it in Milam. He isn't the same player he was over the last two years. You can see it in his mannerisms, and his body language. It is why he isn't stepping up and being a leader. It is why his batting average is lower. I don't know exactly what it is wrong with this team, but their "GAF" is broke.

That’s just dumb. His fielding is damn near perfect and he’s hitting the ball as hard as anyone. Unfortunately just right at people.

Not denying it, but does it need to be pointed out every waking second?

Plenty of guys were a few weeks ago when I asked the same question.
A few weeks ago, there was a bit more room for hope.
And plenty of people were here to point out that some of that is the pitfall of being in a deep run in the CWS (like winning it all). It puts you in the portal way later than many, including not knowing you will lose certain guys like Larson, who could be playing first or right, while Brown plays first right now.
Another example of the whacky calendar logic of the NCAA.
We will have to do better this year, though. And unless we get it together soon, we may have plenty of time to do some portal scouting.

This is the thread he was referring to. There wasnt “plenty of people” a few weeks ago. It is pretty underwhelming response all around in that thread. No one really engaged, the few that did, were non committal , agreed with OP, and 1 defended players and JJ

Yeah, the way this year's portal guys are panning out, they are not cutting it. That being said, he also brought in Skenes, White along with a long list of others previously and won 2 national championships. That's all that needs to be said.

Who is denying that??

I wonder how much NIL was used to bring in all the xfer guys
Guys are getting paid for being bad
hopefully JJ doesn’t get xfer portal signing wrong again

You really have reading comprehension issues, among others. Go frick yourself a-hole!

Some of these guys played at D1 power 5 schools and hit over 300. If dardar was hitting over 300 we wouldn’t complain about his defense. The bigger issue is the freshman look lost besides Patrick. Even Milam is struggling at the plate. Bullpen can’t throw strikes.
Need someone offensively to step up tomorrow and get a big hit with guys on base.

I agree 100% , I think Milam is lacking the hustle and leadership he showed last season

It was a dumb comment and you’re an idiot. Milam hasn’t changed his demeanor in 3 years. I guess you just started watching and want to comment since they’re losing some games.

He (Coach Johnson) literally said they need “better recruiting” post game Friday night. You don’t say that unless you’re acknowledging that some recruits were misses.

Yeah, a lot of them went to other schools because we didn’t have the money to pay them.

$25 per victory and all problems disappear.
I'm beginning to despise college sports.
