I think the answer is obvious. When we make a deep run in Omaha, we miss the opportunity to sign the top portal guys.

Oh good lord, have any of you been following the baseball NIL money news?
Jay didn't miss, he didn't have the funds to match. But after a meeting with the board, supposedly it won't be a problem going forward.

Plenty of guys were a few weeks ago when I asked the same question.

Those guys thought 23-7 in the SEC was selling LSU short.

So tired of hearing this bullshite. I have seen teams with 1/100 of the talent of this team not make the mental mistakes or errors we make. Also have significantly better plate discipline. Spare me with the garbage. There is plenty of talent on the roster.

didn't we have the top ranked portal class?

there is no excuse for the errors. transfers, freshman, I don't care. D1 baseball players should be able to make those plays.

Brother that’s just not a valid excuse, even if offer wise he came up short on some, he’s still better funded than most of the country and the team shouldn’t be this bad.

We missed on some evals and the pitching is mostly shite…it happens.

No one was crying about our inability to pay talent during last year’s portal haul

The first 3 transfers were Simpson, Dardar, and Lachenmeyer. These players signed quickly meaning LSU was targeting them first.
How are they doing?

Seems like there’s some truth to that.

Like a lot of people, I’ve been patient with this team. But tonight, they absolutely mailed it in. Most seemed disinterested, and all the errors made it clear that they were checked out.

Not a good look against a really shitty Ole Miss team.

A few weeks ago we still thought they were adjusting

Reality is they are not SEC quality

Yeah there's enough sample size here now. They aren't good.

I felt much better about the 2024 3-12 SEC team than this 6-7 SEC team.

Who is denying? Welcome to the world of the transfer portal. You have hits and you will have misses. Some years you may have a lot of hits and have a year like 2023 or 2025, some years it will be like 2024 or this year and you a lot of misses. That is how college sports will be going forward.

The inference is that the team, most of whom didn't play on that team, thought it was going to be handed to them and now they're lost.

sounds real familiar, can't quite put my finger on it...

The pitching is not mostly shite, it's the components surrounding the pitchers. Look up the SEC pitching stats at the end of last week. That shite tonight was not on pitching.

Lil jj has been lucky in many instances. Good baseball fortis a real thing. His luck has run out this year. This team he assembled stinks.

Folks claiming as recently as between our last loss and this game that we had a 1:5 shot at making the CWS.

LSU fans sure get fickle quick. We had 1 NC since Skip left after 2001 and Jay wins 2 of the last 3 NC and everyone wants to crucify the guy. People need to get out and get a little fresh air or something.
