The snarky moral victory response from is not fricking original and that shite response is worn out. Some fans are simply pointing out positive things that occurred in the game despite the loss. No one is claiming victory, moral or otherwise. The team generally played very well in a tough environment that other teams didn’t fare as well. The addition of Thomas to the lineup has helped offensive flow. They shot well and had five players in double figures and shot free throws well. They dominated the boards and had more second chance points than Arkansas. They lost because Acuff was unstoppable. Give him credit. McMahon out coached Calipari given the makeup of the respective teams.Every goddamned comment about the team and coach doesn’t have to be negative.

That would be a topic for another discussion , although it has also been discussed ad nauseum and is irrelevant at this time. At the end of the season a determination of whether he is terminated will be made and it will be an assessment of where the program stands at that time, not today and the past three seasons. They will determine whether the final results of this season indicate the program is on an upward trajectory, is flat or has regressed.

McMoral wins don’t get you in the NCAA tournament.

quote:I was referring to the negativity displayed on this board, not the administrations determining conclusion. That has basically been your point. This is an LSU sports message board, LSU MBB is an LSU sport, the engagement that happens here is often swayed by the outcome of games and season results. The repeated negativity displayed here is a direct correlation to the overwhelmingly poor results under CoachMc’s tenure. It should be expected and was earned.

I’m not sure the shut up and take it approach is going to work.

You just PERFECTLY described a moral victory. Congratulations. Also, 15-46.

This is what we've lowered ourselves to? Moral victories? How many SEC wins does McFly have in his entire tenure here? 17? Enough said. He doesn't get moral victories or excuses anymore. He's simply not a good coach get over it. We all know it by now.

This team isn't that bad when healthy. Just had some bad luck. The Acuff kid was making everything today
Does Bud Walton have loose rims too?

Come back to reality.

Tell me when LSU and the money people make a solid commitment to winning basketball, then get back to me. WW aint coming back, so quit thinking about that pipe dream you freaking loser. Calling people "stupid" on the internet, just shows your feeble mindset. MM isn't out there bricking shots, and turning the ball over. You're a typical knucklehead LSU clown that doesn't know jack shite about sports, and execution. Dudes like you is is why I quit going to baseball, football, and basketball games. Never have to listen to the nonsense. Have a good day.

It’s not McMuffin’s fault. He’s doing his best and should be commended.

McMahon’s problems aren’t tough games on the road like this. It’s not finding a way to win the recent Kentucky home game where we had a huge lead. That’s why he will get fired.

You can't ignore 3 years of data to make a decision based on a snapshot in time. Particularly when regardless of how LSU finishes the season, next year's roster will be significantly different given the transient nature of the sport. Plus, "upward trajectory" is relative. Winning 5, 6, even 7 SEC games would technically be an "upward trajectory" relative to last season for LSU. But it would not be "good" relative to LSU's performance in the entirety of college basketball.
There are two very simple questions the AD must ask:
1. What does the AD want out of LSU basketball? A program that has intermittent decent seasons with intermittent fans support? Or a program that can consistently compete at the highest level of the sport like other SEC contemporaries in recent years such as Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn? None of which had historically great program until they "hit" on the right HC.
2. If the answer to question 1 is that LSU wants to be a program that can consistently compete at the highest level of the sport, then the next question is do you think McMahon is the HC to get them to that point within the foreseeable future? If the answer is "no", then it's time to make a change. Otherwise, every year he remains the HC will be just a waste of time towards what should be the ultimate goal of every major conf. program...consistently competing for championships.
IMO, the answer to question 2 has LONG been established. But in case you don't think it has, he's been given 4 years. In a landscape that has shown multiple times over now that a "rebuild" can occur immediately, 4 years is PLENTY enough time to assess a coach.

Still having McLoser as the head coach this year is definitely proof that Woodward didn't have a commitment to basketball. Hopefully Verge will fire him soon and start the process of getting it back to the Brown/Brady/ Wade days!
