CEH did pretty well…

What idiots are downvoting you? Clyde ran for over 1400 yards in 2019. He averaged 6.6 yards per carry. He caught 55 passes for 450 yards. He scored 17 touchdowns in that season. That’s a pretty good year.

Nick Brossette wasn't too bad.

I got a feeling that the running back development is about to get exponentially better.

Guice signed with LSU in 2015. Wilson officially accepted the UTSA job in 2016. Guice was recruited and played his freshman year with Frank as his coach.

Darrel Williams
Jeremy Hill

Lanard Fournette

You should really edit the OP. Derrius Guice, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, hell even Tyrion Davis-Price broke the school rushing record and got picked in the 3rd round.

These examples all reinforce your actual point which is that Frank hasn't developed any backs since he returned four years ago. But there's no need to pointlessly put down the backs that did develop while he wasn't here.

He was a good recruiter and a shitty running backs coach. I don't know why people think any different

LK has managed to win 50 games in 5 years without Wilson. Plus led the conference in rushing. I think he will be alright.

Fournette, Guice, CEH, TDP, and Josh Williams even as a RS Frosg and RS Soph developed.

It was after that they didn’t.

Emory had issues with eligibility and injuries early on before BK came as well and then followed up with them again.

Frank sucked as a coach. This isn’t something new. Guy was only on staff purely as a recruiter for the NOLA schools which do presume a bit of high level talent, but not enough to justify wasting an entire unit from developing.

6 of those 10 years were not under Frank Wilson (2016-2021)

Does the thread title say "Frank Wilson" or "we", meaning LSU?

Excellent point. In opposition, you might can argue that he”developed” Spencer Ware but I thought Ware’s role as a battering ram (probably Miles’s doing) was a disservice. Ware was great in the NFL for a short time as a three-down back: great hands, good in pass pro; and nice first-cut vision.

I wouldn't call Fournette a bust but he was definitely a disappointment in the NFL. I think most people thought he had more upside than Henry.

Frank wilson wasnt here from 2016-2021

He was the head coach at UTSA and McNeese St....and failing at that

Frank has been back here since 2022 and in the 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 draft we will not have a RB selected since his return. The last time we went at least 4 years without a RB selected in the draft was 1992-1998

The guy is a pretty awful coach at this point in his time.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire would probably beg to differ, has 1 CFP National Championship & 2 Super Bowl rings...

honestly don't really care about success at the NFL level.

we've had some damn good college backs that had next to zero NFL success.

Ty Davis was pretty good in my opinion. Clyde was solid and played big in big games. Guice was a dog.
