Was it bring your local high school aspiring sports commentator to work day, yesterday?

InB4: It’s Jackie Bradley Jr, he’s got skins on the wall, just retired cut him some slack, he knows ball, we are spoiled with Lyn and Ben

I think he was just nervous
It was awkward but sometimes I’d rather silence than constant rambling to the point of the BPB guy not being able to call the game

Neal tried to get him going talking about his playing days
I think he didn’t want to make it about himself too much
Again, we have ours that inserts their playing time & connections constantly to the point of being annoying

Never realized JBJ sounded like a 12 year old girl prior to last night

It got really awkward when they were talking about the lack of fans at the stadium

Yeah, Neal constantly set him up. Jackie just needed to respond naturally. Or maybe he did respond naturally?

But when he started talking about getting hit in his triceps he talked wayyyy too long on it.

I didn’t get in til late last night, but that’s a shame. I liked JBJ as a player when he was with the Red Sox

I think you are right. He'll get better with more games under his belt. The first thing he should do is learn the position numbers by heart so he can quickly call the last defensive play going into a commercial.

I didn't think his commentary added much, but the dead air doesn't bother me at all. I miss the days when I could just hear the ambient noise of the stadium between pitches, and the announcers would call the pitches and add commentary when something actually happened, instead of babbling all game long, trying to fill air. I don't need constant chatter. It's annoying and distracting.
