Mike Scarborough, who has a great relationship with Jamie Howard said a few weeks ago that Walker didn’t want to be on scout team another year. Walker being on scout team is not on the same field with the offensive coaches and first two team offensive players. Walker is not ready to beat out Daniels and Nuss and he knows that. This just makes me respect Nuss even more that he is still here competing.

discussing what was said in other thread but it seems like he wanted to know where he stands in the pecking order and BK told him straight up.

It sucks we missed out on Holstein because of Howard. Holstein 100% would have been ours if we recruited him but did not because muhhh quitter Howard.

He was redshirting, per his own request. Only a bitch complains about getting what they asked for.

All this tells me is when he got to LSU, the plan was for Howard to redshirt and Daniels was just a one year deal and Walker would be either starting or second string.

Getting Daniels altered the plans. I think that was evident by Brennan basically retiring from football a few weeks before the start of the season. I think the plan was originally for Brennan to bridge the gap last season and this Spring was going to be Nuss and Howard battling it out for the starting position this year.

Once Daniels got here that altered the plans and now we need to get another QB in the transfer portal again.

He would have most assuredly stayed and developed if JD didn't come back. Can't blame him one bit. Hope he tears it up somewhere, just not in the SEC.

Well Jaime and walker shouldn’t ask too redshirt then cry about scout team.

No big deal as JD and Nuss are better

It was clear in the bowl game where he was relative to the other 2…waaay behind.

Man where do y’all come up with this crap? He isn’t crying. He saw he will be third string one more year. Then backup in 2024. He did not come here to sit 3 years. Can not fault the kid for wanting to play. Even if he goes somewhere to back up this year and start next, he is a year in front starting of where he was here.

I don't think it was about being on the scout team last year. It was about remaining on the scout team for '23.

Kelly made it very clear that Daniels was #1 and Nuss was #2. Maybe he saw the handwriting on the wall.

This is what saddens me.

At least with just Nuss he gets better reps and has the potential to either beat him out or be the guy if he struggles.

I just don’t think 1 more year of Daniels was worth losing Howard over, but time will tell.

This sums it up the best. You can’t fault the kid for wanting to play now. If he cannot beat out Nuss, some other team will give the opportunity. This notion of “quitter” is absolutely absurd. College football has forever changed and you can’t fault these kids for taking advantage of that.

And possibly 4. That has everything to do with Nuss’ presence on the roster, not Daniels.
