There is ZERO reason for anyone to leave this off-season. If Myles is healthy he will start. If Myles is the starter, there is always a chance he could get injured, so why would Max or TJ pass up the opportunity to become a starter at LSU again?

Y'all have lost your damn minds. If Brennan is healthy, he 100% will be starting.

I think so too

I think it's reasonable to think Brennan will be the starter.

I think it's unreasonable to think it's a foregone conclusion. That's absurd, IMO.

Let’s hope Myles Brennan recovers and is ready to compete in the spring.

Well we all do but lets also be honest, he had back issues in 2018 and from what we know now, had Joe got hurt, Myles would not have been able to play a full season, would have been very limited. Now this injury, so he has never stayed healthy.

That is why I don't see Myles as the sure starter, he has to go win the job.

If he’s healthy he’s your starter, imo.

If they declare it open, he probably transfers.

But just my opinion he was the best QB this year & I’d love to see what he couid do with a good OC

If he doesn’t return in time to compete for the job then he can’t win the job. If he can’t return and the loser of the Finley/Johnson competition transfers, we could be in position to have only one scholarship back up, a freshman.

I hope his injury isn't as bad as reported. But it's been oddly quiet now a few weeks after some of insiders on this board said it was getting worse.

I don’t see TJ staying unless he makes some massive improvements on his touch and decision making. He’s got a great fastball, but everything else leaves a lot to be desired. Max can manage the game better at this point.

At this point, you either have "Touch and good decision Making" or you don't.

Those attributes may be improved a little with coaching, but not by much. What you see is what you get.

I think T.Jandon Harrisley transfers. He's not playing ahead of Myles and Maximus and has to compete with Nussmeir in the fall as well.

I think it’s an foregone conclusion someone leaves and it’s probably TJ but we would be in a bind if he left and then Max beat out Brennan because then Myles almost surely leaves right before the season in the scenario leaving us with only 2 scholarship QBs, one being a true freshman. If healthy Myles most likely wins the battle but Max is a winner and that’s hard to keep down. You also get Max’s running ability but with Myles you open up your downfield passing game a lot more and routes outside the numbers where his arm strength really helps. If there was one knock to Max this year it was that he did not look comfortable throwing the deep ball or across the field.

That’s a shite stirring headline if I ever read one, which says a lot about the editor in charge.

He was only 60% the week of the Bama game. O was asked to update at Gridiron and he said he was 60% and was worried about his future.

ok. That's reasonable. I'm just saying it's not a foregone conclusion.

It will certainly be an open competition.

I think you need to rewatch those early games. He made plenty of mistakes. And, at no point IMO, did he ever have the composure in the pocket that Johnson showed in the last two.

But, he was definitely showing signs of settling in and becoming what we had hoped.

The young QBs are primed to take a large step forward. You have to see what they look like after spring.

The only thing good about that article is the recognition that each of those three quarterbacks stepped up and did their best when called. The first one struggled at first, got in a rhythm, but got injured. The second had great early success but had difficulty sustaining it. And the third did really well but for the shortest period of time.

They all deserve credit for having stepped up to the best of their abilities at this time when called.

As the old saying goes, three is a crowd. Many wonder whether Brennan, Finley, and Johnson will all make it to spring ball. It is not even known right now what the structure of spring football will look like or if there will be a spring game in Tiger Stadium.

Fall maybe. Myles may not be able to go by Spring, so anyone who ducks out before that is someone we don’t need. Anyone who isn’t afraid of some good competition is going to want to stake their claim to this job before Fall camp.

It seems clear that Max vs Brennan is going to be the battle in the Spring.

If Brennan is smart he will spend all off-season learning how to be more mobile. Max seems like he has intangibles that Brennan does not. Brennan's arm talent is obviously out of this world, though. Two very different skillsets. Finley seems pretty immobile and too inconsistent for his accuracy and arm strength to make up for it.

If I had to guess, I'd say Myles is the starter next year, Max comes in and starts his JR/SR(if necessary) years.

Nice to know that we will have a winner under center regardless.

Dumb subject. TJ obviously odd man out on ability alone. Hope he stays and competes but it’s not his generation’s thing.....

Brennan is and was never going to be the next guy. Just like when people thought Taysom Hill was the same guy for the Saints

It’s the worst case scenario.
