re: Is anybody else worried about the Football season? - JKChesterton on 7/4/20 at 10:10 am
The mortality rate is 0.25% or lower. Extremely lower based on the demographics. If these people can't figure out a way to navigate past this, then they should be fired.
The rate might be 0.25% but this is not going to stop spreading, the notion that Heat would kill it, kill it ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Who is Our Biggest Rival? - JKChesterton on 6/29/20 at 1:03 pm
Our biggest rivals are Alabama, Auburn and Florida in some order...they are always the most critical games of the year for us...and the conference race is almost always still in doubt when we face them all. Back in the day, it was Ole Miss and Tulane, but no more...
Chicken in...

re: Have wealthier whites been abandoning college football for a while now? - JKChesterton on 6/22/20 at 11:41 am
Football will never go away in the Midwest and South.
I agree those 2 areas will not have the decline that the Mid-Atlantic/East Coast and West Coast will have, but I think those 2 regions will still see some declines as well. The declines overall are to large for it just to be 1...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Soccer is a great Sport in small doses, like once every 4 years with the World Cup No way could I watch a HS Soccer match on Friday, then wake up Saturday and start watching College Soccer at Noon and keep watching Soccer until an 8pm prime time Match, then go to sleep, wake up on Sundays ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
I think as far as participation - yes. As far as attending and viewing - no. Plenty of moneyed folk are happy to watch the gladiators compete
Your correct, participation rates are going down across the country, and I would say that is economically upper middle class whites an...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Knoxville and East Tennessee were pro Union - JKChesterton on 6/20/20 at 7:44 pm
Mithridates6: Correct, this article talks about how many non secessionist there were among the 131 delegates that voted. Many parishes were Coperativist (term used) or Unionist vs secessionist. Here is an overview of Unionism in Louisiana. Kind of interesting. https://64parishes.org/entry/unio...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Alabama schedules series with Ohio St - JKChesterton on 6/19/20 at 5:31 pm
SummerOFGeorge: Good list, Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame and OU, all brand names. Wisconsin, FSU, GA. Tech (you all get to sing about GA. Tech which is still in the fight song correct?), Arizona, and Va. Tech all solid P5 matchups (FSU if they get back to Bobby Bowden era, even early Jimbo, wil...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: SEC says MS must change flag or face consequences - JKChesterton on 6/18/20 at 10:36 pm
That us the Bonnie Blue Flag, which is obviously not the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. It was the Battle Flag that we all know was used by Jim Crow advocates and the KKK and thus that is why it has different historical connotations than the Bonnie Blue Flag, which other than those wh...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: New video interview with Ryan Perrilloux - JKChesterton on 6/18/20 at 1:47 pm
Respectfully disagree. LSU put up excellent offensive numbers in 2007 and Miles ran an open offense in 2008, probably too open with J. Lee. Had RP been running that offense in 2008, I am as convinced today as I was back then that 8-5 in 2008 is more like 11-2 at worst....

re: Alabama schedules series with Ohio St - JKChesterton on 6/18/20 at 1:43 pm
Congrats, that is a big time Home and Home series. The Big 10 is the closest league top to bottom relative to the SEC in terms of Big stadiums, great game day venue and atmosphere and good football teams. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

re: How long before someone says LSU should drop Tigers? - JKChesterton on 6/12/20 at 11:49 am
Likely not going to happen. There is enough distance between having a tiger mascot and why the mascot was chosen. It’s way different than having a mascot/name that is actually a direct reference to times of slavery/racism (ex. Ole Miss, Redskins)
Well said. The fact that LSU w...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
hat has to be one of the most asinine statements ever on SEC rant. Nick Saban on Golf Channel - JKChesterton on 6/11/20 at 12:59 pm
Saban was just on Golf Channel announcing Justin Thomas first off tee in his group. Smart move by Ole Saban as many people who are not only big fans of Golf (I am in that group) but also casual golf fans are probably watching the Tournament.
