This is like saying you want LSU to hire a convicted felon to play QB but if he's good enough you won't care.
Quite a leap and not what I’m saying at all. What a terrible comparison.
We have posters in here giddy at the thought of this getting struck down. We might have found a loophole and you’re naive if you think most other schools would not take advantage.
But ok grandpa. Keep pretending it’s 1996 and players come to the program only.

Well, if it works out, that’s the offensive production we had not obtained. Really hope this works out.

posts Back to top Posted on 5/19/26 at 9:59 am to WaydownSouth He’s not a PG. He averaged 2 assists a game in college. He’s a SF that shoots about 31% a game from 3 which is why he went undrafted. He is a good athlete, a definite dog on the defensive end. I do find it interesting tho that the Celtics thought enough of him to trade a veteran NBA player in George Niang for him.
Is he a true PG? No, but he would be similar to Luka Doncic on the Mavs in that he is the primary ball handler and the offense runs through him. (Do not get this confused with me saying his game is like Luka's. Just that they are a SG/SF that is the primary ball handler)

Nowhere is my post giddy about anything. If you even read the posts fully and had the comprehension skills to understand them you would have noticed. If you view this as beneficial for LSU outweighing the negative ramifications it can have, more power to you.

RJ Luis never played in a G League game. Charles Bediako played in some G league games so it was a no brainer that he’d be ineligible. This could get interesting.
Playing in G-league games before enrolling to play college basketball does not seem to be a holdup. The NCAA bylaw states:
quote:
Before initial full-time collegiate enrollment, an individual may compete on a professional team (per Bylaw 12.02.4), provided the individual does not receive more than actual and necessary expenses to participate on the team.
Thierry Darlan played 2 seasons in the G-League (appeared in 58 games) before playing the full season for Santa Clara this year. The distinguishing factor between he and Beadiko is that Beadiko previously played college basketball before trying to return. Darlan did not. He was an international player who went straight to the G-league.
Luis already played multiple seasons of college basketball. IMO, that will keep him ineligible to return.

If you don’t pass the ball then you aren’t a PG. Luka will pass.
Luis no doubt plays with the ball in his hands a lot. He just doesn’t pass it.
UMass- 1.3 assists a game
St John- 1.0 assist a game
St John- 2.0 assists a game
He’s a guy that will get the ball and drive it to basket repeatedly. And he draws lot of fouls. He shot 178 FTs in 35 games his last year at St John’s which I assume was among the highest in the country.

I hate what college sports have become and hope that rules will be put in place to restore some sort of order but until then I want LSU to push the boundaries since other programs will be.
I prefer actual victories and being competitive instead of moral victories while having a losing record.

Meh...I like the thought of winning, and this man is definitely good.
I have more of an issue with the fact that WW is in the gutter trying to manufacture players, that seem ineligible, on the surface.
Hes a pro! He played pro ball and was under contract as a professional player that GAVE UP HIS COLLEGE ELIGIBILITY, to turn pro.
And now, our pos character coach is taking a flier hoping he's somehow gonna beat the courts ultimately.
I dislike "college" basketball. This guy is NOT a college athlete. So great! Get excited and go buy tickets and stick your chest out win a group of professional athletes beat some 19 yr old college kids. Morons
Oh yeah, no doubt that means WW is a great coach, beating college kids with 26 yr old professional athletes

If a judge rules he can play, it will have a huge impact of all of college basketball (and other sports).
There are a large number of players who opted to go to the NBA and didn't make a team. How many of them would come back to play for a school and get paid? I'll bet a lot of them.

Player plays 3 years in college then gets $3 million to transfer to another school - perfectly fine
Player plays 3 years in college then signs a G League contract for $40,000, but never plays a game. Then wants to play another year of college basketball - This is terrible for the game! We can’t have this! Somebody do something!

If this holds, you can write them in the sweet 16 at minimum.
He would be the best PG in college basketball“
Wow. That’s some size large talk right there!
