I've got SECN+ too. I finally had to log out of the app via my tv provider, then go to ESPN.com/activate, put in the code, and I'm finally rockin' and rollin'. Was watching illegally on my laptop, but still, aggravating as frick. Whew. Oh well.

Loved seeing Bear keep his hands back on that bomb. He's so strong, even if he gets fooled and gets out on his front foot, if he can just keep those hands back long enough to get the barrel on it, he can still do damage. Soft tossing lefty, though, he's probably thinking that going up there. Be a little harder once he starts seeing higher velocity. But great 1st at bat. Hopefully it helps get his confidence going. You know he had to be pressing a bit the last couple of weeks after he got off to a slow start in the intrasquads.

Nice job by Millazo doing the same thing. Keeping his hands back and getting the barrel on that pitch outer 3rd. He'll never have much pop, but the Alex of 2 years ago would have run out of bat on that pitch.

My biggest concern with Hurd is how he handles adversity. He didn't seem to handle it too well last year. Especially when they started shrinking the zone in SEC play. He had a tendency last year to let it get away from him quick. He could be rolling through 3, get squeezed on a pitch or 2, walk a guy, hit a guy, and all of a sudden he's given up 3.

shite, I started typing this when he'd only given up 1 hoping he'd be able to battle his way out of it. Not a great start for his confidence. And you can tell with how Jay treats him, how he talks about him, that for Hurd to be at his best, he needs to really feel confident. Oh well. Hope he shakes this one off and bounces back next week. Long season. Don't let 1 bad outing turn into 2.
