Dave for Bo. What say you and why?

Why do you think we have to choose one over the other. Every team is different and every season is different.

Pelini did not have to face the wide open offenses prevalent today. That and injuries with depleted depth accounted for much of the alleged dropoff the last couple of seasons.

Saban had not yet built up Alabama to be the powerhouse it became.

Aranda went through a rebuilding stage at LSU at the same time as a coaching transition.

Both coaches had success at LSU within their tenure, tha tis all that matters..

No, Aranda is one of if not the best in the business right now and Pelini hasn’t been for a decade. We’ll be fine but it’s def a downgrade.

Bo was better and more exciting to watch. We’ll see what happens in the future. Dave was excellent.

I wouldn't say upgrade. Just different. Bo's D is a more downhill attacking style that will be more aggressive. You likely will see more sacks and turnovers, but also more big plays by the offense. It's a high risk, high reward defense.

Aranda was more cerebral and was designed to beat you with scheme and to keep the play in front of the defenders so they can react without giving up big plays. His D would wear you down and wait for you to make a mistake.

Bo's attacking style with the D line should attract more big time DL prospects. Aranda has been excellent at developing LBs at LSU. We'll continue to be strong at DB with Corey and Busch coaching CBs and safeties.

Nope. Steele left because he could add to his Alabama pension.

Steele was kindly told to take a hike and was given the Les Miles courtesy of being told ‘find work elsewhere’.

Yes. I believe bo is an upgrade over aranda. We have the athletes to play his agressive style of ball, which we didn't see enough of under aranda at times when we should have. We will man up on the outside and pressure and stop the run with our front 7. This is gonna be good.

Offenses have changed a lot since Bo was DC at LSU. I still think Pelini will do great. Aranda had a rough start to this year but the defense played great at the end of the year.

No

But there won’t be a big drop off

In regards to last year, starting the 2nd half of the Florida game Aranda made an adjustment bringing more consistent pressure on the opposing QB, continued this the remainder of the season.

Aranda is a very good D coordinator. His style is pretty current - giving up a lot of yards between the 20s then tightening down. I don't like that style, it gives the opportunity for too much to go wrong in a bad spot on the field (when the opposing O is in plus territory).

Bo is going to play tough defense from the time the opponent gets off the bus until they limp back on. Attack, attack, attack. That is the style of D I really like so it will be an upgrade to me.

Per LSU Media Guide, prior to 2019 Miles had 4/5 top scoring offenses in LSU history.

I don’t think it’s an upgrade. Really hoping it is, though.

Bo’s defenses became very leaky toward the end of his tenure here.
