That actually makes me feel better. They didn’t know about it because it’s a non issue. People have linked the rules. The penalty was ruled an unsportsmanlike penalty and doesn’t carry an extra game penalty. Clemson should be embarrassed. Hope we beat the frick out of them.

So it sounds like no half suspension for Haulcy unless SEC/ NCAA say otherwise. Not sure if that is how this is going down.

It literally sounds like some Clemson turd reported him getting kicked out of a game and thought it was suppose to come with an extra game suspension. When in fact it doesn’t. Stuff like this doesn’t just fall through the cracks.
That LSU nor the SEC compliance knew about it tells you this was a nothing burger brought up recently and now they are doing a quick review.

Except there weren’t an ejection in this last game to be concerned about. He wasn’t told to sit out the 1st 1/2 of the 1st game this season. Clemson sent it to the ncaa to review to see if he should have to.

Of course it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have recruited him. But in an unusually high focus on the 1st game of the season, it means we should have been better prepared for this and giving more 1st team reps to guys who will actually be playing on the 1st team in a huge game that we’ve put an unusually high emphasis on.
Maybe we have, and what the media has seen was a smokescreen, and they’ve switched it up whenever the media isn’t there. But that doesn’t appear to be the case. If we weren’t prepared for the possibility of this, or we were and our strategy was hoping and praying nobody would find out, that negligent on our part.
I think that could change our 1st half game plan if we were caught totally unawares. We probably take the ball 100% if we win the toss now. And we probably take less chances on both offense and defense in the 1st half in order to control the ball more. It might be slight, and ultimately not make much—if any—difference in the outcome. But it will at the very least make us rethink adjusting the 1st half game plan, and probably tinker with it at least a little bit.
Hopefully it fires us up and doesn’t matter at all. The positive, pissed-off psychological effect it could give us could wind up overcoming any negative effect it could have ever had on us. But it changes things both on the field and mentally. Whether that’s to our benefit or detriment—and how much—is yet to be seen.
