I have my sources (don't ask) that say that Nikki Fargas, Bo Pelini and Scott Linehan knew about the whole ordeal and covered it up. Come on LSU do the right thing.

Yes, I brought this up before as well. You have LSU getting accused of both ends of the spectrum. Quite odd considering he was a QB recruit, so if a place had a culture of doing something, you think a QB would get the longest leash.

Sorry, but if the intent of the OP is to communicate how serious things are at LSU right now, I would not have included this. Seems like scraping the bottom of the barrel stuff.

Also, I wouldn't trust a word from

Obviously but not everything that's really bad is a NCAA violation. Title IX investigation, absolutely.

If you're trying to make a distinction between Title IX and NCAA violations, then I'll bow out of this discussion. A quick internet search led me to believe that the NCAA would be involved in Title IX when athletes are involved, but I'll admit I have no idea how the jurisdictions work.

Its a football player beating the shite out of the tennis player here

Was a football player involved in the 2012 incident with a tennis player that you quoted? I didn't see it say that in the article.

So now you have the tennis coach burying it, Verge burying it, and they werent the only admins to know....

I know two people that were involved with the LSU tennis program. The situation with the tennis player Lewis is more complicated than how you are describing it. It's my understanding Lewis left the tennis team to turn pro following her freshman year, which ended in May 2017. So she was no longer on the tennis team starting late May or early June 2017. She states in her tweet following the statement from the Sells that the abuse occurred between May 2017 through August 2018. There's a correlation between the start of the abuse and her turning pro. Is also my understanding that she wasn't enrolled at LSU when the 2018 abuse and arrest of Davis occurred, as she was pursuing her pro tennis career, and it sounds like she may not have been enrolled for the fall 2017 semester. For that reason I think Verge may be alright, as she wasn't a student and it's my understanding that title ix requires protection of the abused student from the accused. Sells may be fine as well considering Lewis wasn't a student and not on the team, not sure, but that is mostly a he said she said situation anyway. Lewis also initially denied any rumors/accusations of abuse by Davis. She continued to deny this to both the police and LSU even after Davis was arrested in August of 2018 and did it again when he was arrested in September of 2018. This was even reported in the news.

WAFB Link

I have no problem with LSU being punished if they improperly handled this situation. It's just more complicated than "LSU was aware and did nothing". LSU may have been aware of rumors of abuse but what are they supposed to do if Lewis denies the allegations and won't accept any help from either LSU or the police.

For the record, I do believe the abuse accusations by Lewis and I think Davis should be in prison. I also believe Lewis is pointing fingers at LSU now but that she did not do much to help her own situation back in 2018, which hindered LSU's response to it all.

Every time I see this topic title I think it’s something dirty because the words “women’s....laid...seed” jumps out at me.

who is Kennan Johnson’s Dad?

Kennan's biological dad played basketball for LSU doing the Dale Brown era and her mom played tennis at LSU doing that time. Great kid, great parent (mom). I'm glad she is finally speaking out. I'm very close to the family.

From her LSU bio:

quote:

Born March 17, 1996 … Mother Natalie Johnson played tennis at LSU and father played basketball at LSU … Majoring in sociology with a minor in psychology.

So why is her dad's name so "unmentionable"? I'm guessing he must have been estranged from the daughter or something?

Yes, her biological dad left when she was born. It's not that his name is unmentionable. I can tell you this, he is from California.

Lack of Institutional Control is a massive charge, especially against a President and AD that weren't here for 99% of this. You claim Woodward was made aware of all of this, but you don't know what he has said or done in private about it. For all you know, he's been keeping the NCAA in the loop the entire time and is planning with them to make appropriate action and punishment for the Title IX issues.

You're tossing out the idea of LOIC way too soon.

Also, whether ethically gray or not, it certainly helps LSU that Emmert and Scott are very close friends and have children married to each other.

This thread title is so douchey too. Reads like you have sources at the NCAA that told you this. You don't. You don't LOIC is coming.

It's a guess by you - a very heated and biased individual regarding this case.

Lsu football has OLOL and abuse allegations

LSU womens tennis

Yeh, I am the bad guy for saying this looks like loss of institutional control

Imagine all these things happening at once for any school besides LSU......There is no doubt the hammer is coming, and more is still to come out

First abuse happened in may 2017, the same time at which Jade Lewis was competing for the team at NCAAs

I hate that those individuals were ever involved with the name of LSU and brought the school I love down. Its a shitty feeling for me, but ultimately they need to face the piper. Its a bigger shame most of the douches involved left

All the people who were responsible for control are gone

What do you think is the hammer?

Basketball won’t get touched

Football might lose 10 or so more scholarships and maybe another year bowl ban

Who cares if LSU gets bowl ban next year as well, will be rebuilding still anyway.
Basketball will get a decent tourney run this year and any tourney ban will probably come the following year due to slow process of IARP
