When Ronnie Prude got penalized on that missed XP at Auburn, then they made the extra chance and beat us like 10-9. Brutal.

Rick Clausen leading Tennessee’s comeback in 2005.

Playing DBs 10 to 12 yards off the LOS every down 2nd Half, when some of the LSU holdover staff knew Rick's arm was only built for dink/dunk and intermediate throws. I blame them more than newbies Les and Bo, but somebody should have spoken up. You let a player you had the book on, beat you the only way he could've.

My moment was Refgate 2006 at Aub. Not the last call, but the calls and non-calls all day. Powers was mugging without being called, Dyakowski phantom call, 1st Down Fumble called Incomplete,etc..Pure BS! That game was not called on the square, and it wasn't just one Ref.

I and the crew were there, 'twas not fair, palpable malice in the air..and lotsa frickery too!

And as with the MNF el-foldo vs Tenn, Les Schembechler played a huge part in an L that shouldn't have been, being hardheaded.

Nikita's shot was in time. The refs would have counted it if it had gone in.

Out of all things in that game, the melt over that play was so stupid

It was blatantly obvious that Jefferson was trying to pitch the ball to Ware, but spencer turned his head and stopped his momentum right as JJ was pitching the ball

I forgot the year. But we tipped a pass, bama caught it for a td. And they recovered a inside kick - I don’t remember the exact sequence

1998

LSU led 6-0 at half.
Bama scored TD on tipped pass at 13:05 in 3rd
LSU retook lead, goes up 16-7.
LSU blocked Bama FG with 5:12 in 4th
After LSU punt, Bama scored TD with 2:41.
Bama recovered onside kick.
Bama scores TD on tipped ball at :38

15 of Bama's 22 points were on catches after redshirt freshman Robert Davis tipped the pass.

1998 Bama @ LSU highlights, if you can stomach them.

That 1998 team may have been the most snake-bit team I have ever seen. Sure, the defense was bad, but they had a unique ability to blow late leads (UGA, Bama, ND).

No, we lost the Georgia game that year when Booty threw a cross-field interception on the two-point conversion.

The Bama game is the one where Booty tried to run it in instead of throwing the ball, failed to make it, and the refs allowed the time to run out even though there was a Bama player injured on the play.

You're not wrong, but it was a perfect microcosm of that game. When people rant about it, it's not just that particular play, but everything it represents.

No.

Just a multitude of frick ups and screw-ings on that play. LSU had the ball at the 2 with 20 seconds left and only ran one play. Booty had Mealey and the tight end WIDE OPEN in the endzone and decided to run it into a bunch of Alabama players. Then there's an Alabama player hurt with the clock running and the refs don't stop it and then wave it off and end the game.

After a great run to the Final Four, getting our shite kicked in by UCLA in 2006 (the final score was not indicative of how the game played out as we were down by 20+ almost the entire game), while Tyrus sat on the bench most of the game. Brady came out after and said this:

quote:

John, was there something besides the foul situation that caused Tyrus to sit so long in the second half?
COACH JOHN BRADY: Well, we just didn't think he was playing as well as he was capable of playing. We thought we'd try to give some other guys an opportunity to play a little bit better. That was really it. Wasn't anything else. I mean, he did get in some early foul trouble. I don't think he was ever really mentally as sharp as we needed him to be in terms of executing and who he was guarding, thinking about what they were trying to do against us.
Plus coupled with his foul trouble, we just thought we'd give some other players an opportunity to see if they could make us play a little bit better.

So instead of playing the #4 pick in the draft, and the defensive player of the year, you thought freshman Ben Voogd and freshman Magnum Rolle could make us play a little better so you played them both for more minutes than they had played the entire tourney, while Tyrus played the least amount of minutes in a game all year?

We had a terrible game plan against UCLA, and we were severely outcoached. I won't say we were more talented, as UCLA had plenty of NBA players on that team, but we were a lot more talented than that game indicated.
We didn't beat Duke b/c we outcoached them. We beat them b/c we were more talented than them, by a wide margin.

Had i not drove to Indianapolis by myself from Baton Rouge to witness this, it probably wouldn't have made me so angry.

1979- USC the phantom facemask

there was a face mask, you can see it on youtube, but what is inexcusable was the two USC lineman that moved before the snap that everyone in the stadium, I was there, thought what the flags were for...the play should have been blow dead...

Refs during 12-6 loss at Auburn. Forget year. Calling our first down fumble incomplete worst of the bunch.

Arguably the strangest game ever in Tiger Stadium

Strangest and Hottest. I still think that is the hottest night game in TS I've ever been to.

02 Arkansas

First thing I thought of. If not for the Miracle on Markham or whatever the hell they call it, LSU, at the very least, makes 3 consecutive trips to the SEC championship. Of course we had the Bluegrass miracle go our way that year and we probably lose to Georgia without Mauck at QB, but losing the way we did was a gut punch for sure at the time. Especially considering we were that close with Marcus Randall at QB. While on the subject, the Cotton bowl loss at that seasons end was a bummer as well. Poor Jack Hunt, along with whoever had to cover him, was absolutely abused and run the frick over by Roy Williams all day. Other than a long run by Randall and Bradie James chasing Williams down, that was a long day. Even more so after not sleeping from new years eve the night before and like a 10 am start. Anybody remember that 18 wheeler on fire on the interstate near the Cotton Bowl that morning?

Of course, we get a healthy Mauck for the start of the 03 campaign and the rest is history. Perhaps all that stuff was supposed to happen and allowed him to make the necessary adjustments and not need to rely on his legs as much and develop more as a passer. It all worked out at the end thank God.

And 05' Tennessee has to be the most dejected and literally sick I've ever been leaving Tiger Stadium. Everything that was going on, and to have Rick freaking Clausen, of all people, come in and dink and dunk us all 2nd half to eventually pull it out in OT? Gross.

It amazes me to no end that we were still throwing the ball while up 23-9 going into the fourth quarter. Where was Les Miles when we needed him?

I think the most pissed off I have ever been while leaving Tiger Stadium was after losing to Arkansas in triple overtime on 07. I thought our shot at the National Championship had just disappeared. Fortunately all turned out okay.

Ive never been as angry as the rigged game against the faggies. That was a blatently foul game, the refs completely, on purpose, gave the game to anm. They didn't even try to hide it.
