You call quick slants in areas where the blitzes are coming from.

They were calling short passes.

Johnson threw terrible passes and the receivers couldnt catch a cold if they wanted to.

Millions to give two good guys the biggest coaching opportunity of their lives on one of the biggest stages in college football.

You promote colonels to generals, not second lieutenants.

Safeties were almost as bad.

These linebackers just aren't very good.

That's a big part of the problem. Can't stop the run or the pass.

Toles and harris both suck. Major burns wasn't very good.

The main concern should be the fact that LSU players are not physical anymore.

This is spot on. Who will want to come here as an assistant?

When your HC is a laughing stock in the coaching profession you aren't going to get top notch coordinators to work under him.

This is the absolute truth, and why LSU is fricked as long as Orgeron is head coach. At least this should end up working in our favor in that Woodward will not allow Orgeron to hire new coordinators. He will sink or swim with the ones he's got. The Ogre's days at LSU are numbered.

Well Orgeron has a big problem with who he can get in hiring coordinators, a problem he created. Look at how he’s treated and talks about assistants in the past. Let’s start with Canada, regardless of how you feel about him the way O handled him was unlike anything I’ve ever seen from a HC at this level. He lied about the man, smeared him in public all after Canada was forced to sign an NDA and couldn’t respond to the criticism. He bad mouthed Aranda and tried to meddle in his defense as well. He low balled Brady and refused to make him the OC because he wanted someone he could control. Look at his hiring process, lying about potential candidates who he never spoke to, not interviewing guys, hiring buddies instead of credentials. The coaching community is pretty close knit and all these guys know each other. Word gets out and people with options don’t wanna work under a HC who behaves this way.

Coach O needed to make splash hires.

He failed.

Hired rookies.

They are learning on the job at LSU.

Sad. But the rookies bring nothing to the table.
anybody who’s not a blind homer knew this already.

There wasn't one position group that should grade better than a C except kicking.

Offense Coordinator - F
Offensive Line - New Oline Coach F
Running Backs - D- Would be an F except there was very little running room. When there was some blocking, couldn't get through the hole. Where was Korey Kiner? If Emory is out for grades then he is a bust and we can't count on him.
Wide Receivers F - too many drops
Quarterback - C- to a D only because his offensive line gets an F for run blocking and pass protection. Missed a wide open slant for a touch down and then through screen pass into the ground. Also, through passes at receivers feet. Hard to see on TV but seemed like he was not making quick of decisions.

Notes - Oline returned 5 starters or players who played a lot last year. They couldn't run block or pass block. Peetz did little to try to use speed to the outside. Davis-Price is not a speed back and can't get outside. Peetz never put any speed backs in the game to get to the outside like Kory Kiner to force their defense to run sideline. No sweeps to get outside and we have a number of 4.3 and 4.4 guys who could force them to pay attention. We never did any of that. And how many times do we go hurry up and then take the clock down to 1 second to snap the ball? What good is that?

Defense
Defensive Coordinator F
D line c- to a c
linebackers F (new linebacking coach failed)
Defensive Backs - D- to an F (WR's left wide open particularly the TE)

The TE is the best receiver on their team. Considered a definite NFL TE. We never covered him. So F for game plan. There we no adjustments, big plays given up on 3rd down like last year, no communication that allowed the TE to run wide open.

Frustrating, embarrassing.

Our AD still has to approve of these hires. Woody is the final say, and he too failed.
