Your attendance figures are absolutely correct and there is no doubt the game would sell out the dome. The problem is who gets the revenue. If it a true home and home Tulane would be the home team in New Orleans and keep the money. If LSU is home team then the question becomes why play a home game away from Tiger Stadium, a place where LSU gets the parking, concessions, and all the other revenue associated with a home game.

All at LSU.

Put Tulane in a rotation with Tech, ULM, and ULala. It is all they deserve at this point.

TLDR

@LSU every 4 years.

Serious answer is your schools history of bush league tactics regarding price gauging LSU fans in attempt to fund your baseball program probably did more damage toward this cause than you or any other Tulane person may realize.

Tulane needs LSU. Not the other way around. If your leadership remembers that, maybe the “rivalry” can be rekindled. LSU is doing your school a favor by playing them. It baffles me why you guys ever would have gotten the attitude that we owe you anything, but you did.

That’s why we don’t play you anymore in most sports and certainly not the big revenue sports. Hopefully your new leadership pulls it’s highly educated heads out the sand and acts with some common sense.

I would love to play Tulane every year in the major sports. Even a 2-1 at the dome. God dammit this is college sports. I want to play our original rival. I remember seeing all of these snappy “look at us we can like sports too” kids saying “frick You wake forest” at their opener last year and I thought how much I’d love to see them try that at LSU and have it thrown back in their faces. I don’t care how awful they are. Tulane will always hold a place as a rival of LSU in my heart. I wish we’d play them regularly.

Nope. Don’t want kids to commit there. The assholes that downvoted me can kiss my arse.
You have no idea what it’s like to hate Tulane. They were our rival. Why would LSU want to lose kids to them when they are losing them to Alabama and others?

Toolame is not our rival.
All we do is help their pathetic athletic dept if we play them. Why would we want to do that? The slime needs us desperately for our ticket money. They haven't even sold their ticket allotment the last few times we played them in Tiger Stadium and we had half of the attendance for the baseball games at Turchin. We shouldn't play them at all.

One could argue that the talent LSU puts into the workforce outweigh's Tulane's production of libcucks

I could get behind Tulane becoming a clear 2nd athletically if it came at the expense of ULL.

Yes, LSU at Lambeau Field and this year at Austin attest to that. WTF?

Would like to play them again, if they can realize their place. Always thought if we play a La. team, it s/b Tulane.

We should play Tulane every year in football as one of the early OOC games. I wouldn't mind opening the season with them every year.

They used to be our #1 rival in football in the 70's and 80's.

I'd much rather play Tulane (The actual former University of Louisiana) and Southwest Louisiana Junior College at Lafayette (The actual current imaginary/fantasy U of L) because we have a mini-rivalry with both because of the residual spill over dislike between the fan bases from baseball and softball.

Much rather play them than any of the out of state "Sisters of the Poor" bottom feeders that Ausberry loads us down with every season.

Who we got this year? Georgia Southern, Northwest Louisiana Junior College at Natchitoches and Utah State? (Utah State did have a pretty good team last season though, finishing at 11-2 and #21 in the Coaches poll/#22 in the AP)

So yes, bring on "The Slime" and the Ramblin Acadians...…….

The weenies were our "traditional rival" 40 yrs ago. I enjoyed kicking their greenie arse just as much as any Tiger fan. 40 yrs ago. Old Miss under Coach Vaught was a bigger rival and that too has faded over the decades. LSU and the weenies are dead in the water.

As many have said, Tulane should be in the rotation for in state schools to play in Tiger Stadium. Same for basketball imo, Baton Rouge only. No advantage for LSU to do more than that.

Tulane burned the bridge for having games in Turchin but it would be cool to play Tulane for the Pontiff classic each year. Makes more sense than ULL coming to Metairie. Mainieri mentioned this before the season.
