@penrod - I was at the LSU/FSU game in 1982 and like you noted the atmosphere was nuts. I should say oranges when they came out of the stands. Unfortunately after a red hot start including victory over Alabama, they book-ended the FSU game with losses to Miss State the week before and Tulane the...

True Story - Dinardo was originally from Brooklyn NY. The LSU Alumni Association arranged a crawfish boil in NYC to meet the Coach. At a place called Brother Jimmy's on the UES in Manhattan. The crawfish comes out and Coach clearly hasn't had much experience with eating them. He struggled and appear...

Thank you jwp475 for posting that article. I was a sophomore in 1973 and saw every home game (except Alabama) and the loss to Tulane in New Orleans (the old Tulane stadium on Willow Street). That was the first loss to Tulane in like 25 years. The irony that LSU was QB’d by a New Orleans native. ...

I was at that game too. Brought a friend who graduated USC. 1982 was a crazy year. Rated #6 they lose on ABC to Miss State. Rebound to beat Florida State and move up to #7. Then the week after in BR we lose to Tulane. OUCH! Orange Bowl not happy but they play tough and lose to Nebraska 21-2...

LSU lost to Ole Miss and Archie in 1969. Ruined their perfect season and a chance to play Texas for the National Championship in the Cotton Bowl. LSU got some revenge in 1970 61-17. 1965 Alabama at LSU. Alabama with Steve Sloan at QB won 31-7. I missed Namath by a year or so. It was the year Hurricane Hilda hit the area and a chlorine barge sunk in the River near BR.
