Orgeron had zero respect as a potential head coach and even he figured out a way to win a title. That recipe is out there and can be done by almost anyone now. So yes it’s more attractive than ever. 3 straight coaches with titles is almost unprecedented in the modern era.

By gift you mean he went out and recruited a guy? I don't understand this narrative . HEY THE SAINTS DON'T WIN A SUPER BOWL IN 09 WITHOUT DREW BREES!!! Who gives a shite. They had Brees and won a title. We had Burrow and we won a title.

Lets pull Mauk off the '03 team and see if Marcus Randle leads us to a title? Some of ya'all are miserable.

And yes, it is a better job now then it was then.

But also we've slipped relative to other jobs in the SEC.
disagree completely

When Ed won a title and we had a record amount of draft picks it made this job that much better.

We’re a clear 2nd only to Alabama and before that title I think you could make an argument that Georgia and/or Florida were better

I don’t know if it’s better. It is definitely not worse.

That said we have shown that below average to very bad coaches can take this program to a national title. That alone has to make it very attractive to above average to very good coaches.

If you count BCS onward as the start of the modern era we're the only people to do it. Ohio State has 2 and could possibly get 3 one day.

Why in hell are we talking about Miles? Get over it.

This is ridiculous.

He’s talking about the state of the program now vs. during the last coaching search. It’s a relevant topic. No need to get your panties in a bunch, Smacker.

I guess O being so clueless does make this job seem even better, like if HE could do it anyone could, so yeah that makes sense.

What hurts the job is perception BR isn't a great place to live. Sabans wife has something to do with that. When Saban was contemplating returning to college she had to tell him "this isn't Baton Rouge". We need to get in front of that somehow.

True. The game has evolved to where almost any team can jump in and be relevant. The right coach can win 10 games quickly at LSU and a title.

True.

Better facilities alone make it a better job than when Miles was fired.

And Tuscaloosa is a paradise?

If you’re making a multimillion dollar a year salary, you’ll do just fine in BR.

True, because the last two recruiting years ogeron put together some good players. If the new crew can bring in some good offensive lineman this team will be stacked

even when we fired Miles, LSU was a top 10 destination spot, they just botched the hiring of Jimbo. You could argue the 2019 Natty makes us look a little better now.

I don't think the job in any better now, we just have a more competent person running the search.
