Wow, that settles it, the guy must suck.

So he takes over a less than talented lineup, doesn't immediately make them great, has no real year last year, and now they're much improved.

I thought the idea was that you improve the hitting. Has he not done that? Or are you going shift the goal posts again, and say it's the players who made themselves better? In that case, who needs a hitting coach? Let's not even hire one.

Truth. Very few have the quick hands that Walker had.

Yep, the best to ever do it rarely make good coaches

Chipper Jones says heyyyyy. But he is a part timer, Walker would probably quickly tire working with sub .200 hitters.

Abs I guess Ben would be pitching and Theriot would volunteer for defensive specialist.

I have no doubt TW could teach hitting. I also have no doubt that he would be a horrible recruiter. Todd has no personality

That’s a really weird statement for a fan.

I get not liking the hire. I won’t either.

Not at all….

But I still hope they win and have unbelievable success.

Andy Cannizzaro is the correct answer. He’s served his time. Let my people go

I mean, you inferred that because he had a decent season this year that he must be doing great

what goal posts did I shift?

Would you now like to continue to build more strawmen like you did with the entirety of your response?

Have you listened to him talk about hitting? Approaching counts? The guy knows how to hit and if he can inform an audience who probably never tried to hit a 90mph fast ball, imagine what he can do with young hitters.

2 things hitting coaches need to be able to do:

1. implement systems and technology to increase bat speed and exit velo.

2. Teach and imprint the mental.approach to hitting across the entire team.

Once Phil Jackson left the Bulls they should’ve hired Marv Albert!

Todd Walker is not going to be LSU's hitting coach. He is just throwing his star power behind his buddy.
