The stadium could be easily fixed by bringing in the fences in the alleys and center by 5 feet.

Foul lines seem reasonable and it would also require a little more work to bring those in. Bringing in the alleys and center would allow you to have a few more rows of seating as well.

Both teams should play in a park that rewards teams with power. It doesn’t have to be where everyone can blast it out the park, but power hitters shouldn’t have this much trouble hitting home runs.

I think you've got a point. Teams that play small ball aren't impacted. But power hitters are impacted. A park for the championship shouldn't favor one type of play over another.

Believe it or not the park has played to our pitching advantage this year.

There's more to baseball than just HRs. Or at least, there should be.

So just randomly eliminate that in the championship tournament?

Skip said that when he saw the plans for the new stadium he told the NCAA reps involved that by locating it where it was projected to be built it would change the way games were played. They were told that the wind & sun factors would be problems but all such worries were ignored.

[img]magine how many insane Tiger fans would pack the ballparks in Houston and Dallas if we played in the CWS there.

It would be insane, and I’ve already got a boner just thinking about it.[/img]

You’ve got a fat wife huh?

The designer of that field and his family should be homeless for multiple generations.

Well this seems a bit over the top.

The last out last night quite possibly would have been a homer in any other park

Yeah both TN and LSU would have had a few HR last night.

But here's a novel thought....keep one game early during day at 2:00 like they have been, and move other game to night to get rid of this shadow talk.

All I see is a bunch of whiny bitches on here. This field is not much bigger than the Box! 5 ft further at the corners, 10 ft further in the gaps, and 3 ft further in dead center. Of course if the wind is blowing in at 25mph you're not going to hit it out...it'd be the same at the box if the wind was blowing at at 25mph. Everyone has to play on it, so what's the big deal? It's literally only 5-10ft bigger field

The point is that it's arbitrarily stupid.

It's like if for the NCAA football playoffs all games were played on Canadian style fields with huge endzones and uprights at the goal lines.

That would be "fair" since both teams would be dealing with the same issues, but it is an absolutely terrible idea.

You don't force teams to change the way they play when determining a champion. That's ridiculous

What’s ridiculous is assuming every team plays the same way; I.e., relying on the long ball. Would Kentucky have had to change the way they play?

Mrs. RCT just walked in (2-1 Florida in the 8th) and said, “God, still the same score? And why are all the games low-scoring? This is so boring!” and left the room. Your experience may vary!

Because they wind always blows in there. It’s the natural wind pattern. Like here the wind blows out the south unless a cold front comes through. For YEARS the design plus placement of the field has cost teams runs. He’ll Mississippi St lost out one year when a guy hit a ball that’d been on Nicholson at the Box yet guy catches it on the wall. Same for TCU. Game winning homerun in any park in America but they are home right now.
