And you just proved that you have no clue what you're talking about, and have no idea how to argue my point.
Let me make this easy for you to understand. That is, if you are capable of listening: If you were a recruit and you had a choice between a full ride in college, or having to pay your own way, or at least a large sum of it, what would you choose? And if you are a coach who is not ALLOWED, through no fault of your own, to offer a full scholarship, then what do you do to get the players you recruit to come to campus? You do nothing. Because all of the talking you've don to get the player to commit is all you can do. Then, you just wait.
Vandy's recruits have options. LSU loses out on TONS of top prospects to the draft, because those guys aren't usually turning down millions to go to college and then have to pay, or have their parents pay their way. This year, Maurice Hampton turned down millions to come to LSU. Why? Partially because he had the chance to play two sports. And the rest is unknown. Most guys go pro.
It's not an excuse. It's a HUGE reason why Vanderbilt gets guys to campus. If you can't see that, then you have no credibility.

I know this. What is your point? Vanderbilt has gotten more top end talent than LSU. Do you want to go over the draft results over the last decade plus, or are we just going to argue about recruiting magazine rankings?
The fact of the matter is that if LSU weren't limited in their scholarships, and had the same advantage that Vandy does, LSU would blow everyone out of the water. Vandy could not compete with the limitations that public schools have. What athlete wants to go play for an academic school, with a partial scholarship, if they could get a full ride at a place like LSU? And LSU STILL gets a lot of really good players. But vandy shoots for all the top guys, because they know they have a good chance to land a few.

And he had millions on the table to sign a baseball contract. The chance to play football was part of it, just as I said. But he must really want to have the college experience college, in general, if he's willing to walk away from life changing money, for the POSSIBILITY, that that it will pay off down the road. And I think that's great that hes betting on himself. The point is that you have no control over that as a coach. You just hope it happens.

The real reason I say CPM needs to go is just his demeanor, he looks lost half the time and disinterested sometimes, and mostly he just looks tired out there! I think you couple all that with the results of late and it makes a very valid argument.

Explain how USC isn’t as good as Vanderbilt. They’re private. Norte Dame? St John’s? Tulane? Rice? Northwestern? Stanford? Harvard? Georgetown? All private’s, some with a better history than Vanderbilt.

Corbin is far from a Skip Bertman, but yes, tonight's national title (2nd in 5 years) certainly makes him # 1 (best coach out there). I can't stand the bastard, but I give the credit due. I'd venture to say both Mainieri and O'Sulli are probably 1-time wonders with regards to national titles. They're both very good, not great. I'm now ready for a change. I want a young buck that can win me 2 national titles per decade.
P.S. Mainieri is better than average. Saying he is "only average" is asinine.

I didn't read it all, but I agree with what your general point is. After next season, if we don't make a deep run in Omaha, cpm has got to go. We will continue to lose ground to programs that are simply better managed and better coached than ours is under cpm. We have to make a move in order to simply keep up. Cpm is done at lsu and won't win another title here, you are a fool if you think he will/can...it's just not going to happen. I'm an LSU fan period, not a cpm fan, my loyalty doesn't reside with cpm lol. I want what's best for our program and what this program deserves. We are better than this bs we have witnessed the last 10 years of zero titles. Paul has to go first in order to get lsu baseball where it should be. Geaux tigers.
