Whether people want to admit this or not, Tim Corbin is proof that LSU can do better that CPM. What Corbin has done, all by himself, at a school with less than half the attendance no where near the resources and no where close to the tradition of LSU baseball, is just proof that CPM has woefully under performed!! Forget the two rings to one that Corbin now has, Vandy had 15 players drafted this year obviously not all will go or make it but it shows the depth of the program!

Prior to Corbin Vandy was a nobody in the baseball world for the most part he has arguably built the top program in the SEC and I would say nation! And he did it at Vandy, you know that athletic powerhouse known as Vanderbilt University lol lol lol!!!!

Meanwhile LSU the top baseball program in the country, thanks to Skip Bertman, struggles with mid week games loses super’s at home like it is part of his job description, and has just one title in his 11yrs with what was once arguably the top program in the country.

The problem with most people that are fans and don’t really know the game is that LSU wins enough to not make them upset enough to want him gone. Whereas most people that have actually played the game or know the game at a high level realize just how much LSU is falling behind programs like Miss St and Vandy, with Arky just knocking at the door! If

I will make this prediction, if CPM isn’t gone in the next 3 yrs LSU will not be a program to fear anymore, they will be a program to worry about because they might be able to beat you on any given day but having them come to your field and destroy you will no longer be a fear!! And that will all be due to CPM and the idiots that think getting a regional by playing your way into it in the SEC tournament is acceptable!!! IT IS NOT!!!!!!

With the tradition, players, fans and facilities that LSU has, not being a top 8 national seed two years in a row “and remember if the pre-season number 1 team in the country would have been one and done or two and then bbq at the SEC tourney this year that would have been two years in a row that LSU wouldn’t have even hosted a regional!

CPM looks tired, looks lost and needs to RETIRE for the best of the Program! He won’t but he should! CPM needs to go one way or the other

LSU baseball was thought of in the same vein as Bama in football. The top program in the country!!! I wonder what Bama would do if Saban went on a 7 year dry spell of winning a National Title? I can tell you. He would be enjoying time with his grandchildren or coaching at another school

ok diatribe over and you can flame away, but I am not wrong here.

He’s also proof that Florida can do better than O’Sullivan. There is one great coach in Corbin and then about 3-4 other guys you could argue to be second best coach behind Corbin. It’s just how college baseball is. It’s very tough to win a title in today’s game

This is never true for any coach.

no where near the resources

I'll tell you what Corbin's resources are. He can offer full scholarships on an academic basis, whereas LSU is limited to the small number of athletic scholarships it can spread across it's roster. Weight rooms and tradition cannot compete with that kind of "resource".

I'm not saying Mainieri shouldn't be under fire this coming season, or that Corbin can't coach. But he has a huge recruiting advantage over the likes of LSU.

They had the number 1 class last year. And that was because a lot more guys than usual decided to stay.

Which is exactly the point. Corbin doesn't out-recruit LSU. But he can offer full scholarships to get players on campus, whereas LSU can only cross their fingers and hope for the best.

It's not hard to understand.

That is total horse shite and just an excuse for mediocrity!!! Why don’t you ask all the college football programs other than Bama and now Clemson how hard it is to win and they will all say hard as hell!!! Then go ask Dabo & Satan that same question and they will say the same thing! The difference, those two aren’t afraid to try!!!

There is more than one great coach in college baseball and we should be able to lure one of them to LSU. No one will end up saying CPM is one of the best coaches of all time and that is actually what LSU deserves

Paul was a Walker injury away from another Title. He may need to go in the next couple years, but there’s not any coach out there that is a homerun hire.

So you are saying all CPM has to do is try harder to win? So that’s why Saban wins so much it’s because he just tries harder.

Hall of fame coach is average
He’s on the backside of his career and not meeting the demands of a lot of fans but he’s far from average.

LSU has had the #1 class multiple times under CPM. He has gotten plenty of big time players on campus.

Amazing to think that both were on Jack Legett’s staff at Clemson.
Also that Bakich, Sully and Cliff Godwin played against LSU in the BR Regional in 99 for East Carolina.

The difference is, in college football, there is basically one team that wins it all and now a second team is on the rise. In college baseball, there are Coastal Carolina’s, Fresno State’s, last 4 in Michigan’s making a big big run. There is parity in college baseball and college baseball is very evened out across the country as to who is good
