Does the student section still throw their drinks up in the air when LSU scores a TD? Back in the early 2000s this happened all the time, it looked awesome. Did not remember seeing this recently.

Saw the Bills fan throwing snow after TD and it reminded me of the good old days.

One would hope the children are not wasteful of the alcoholic beverages and simply stick to throwing urine.

They definitely did it on a HR ball in the baseball postseason. I can't remember which because I was lit, but I remember seeing the beers fly on TV.

Not every TD, just a really big one

Was one of my favorite parts of the student section

Did it plenty back then. Dangerous as hell, tbh. After td, you had better turn around and cover up if you were down low.

In the 90’s it happened pretty much every td. Students at the bottom and media members on the field getting nailed with a cup full of ice/drink was pretty common and why the marshals tried to stop it.

It still happens on a smaller scale on really big tds.

TD with 1:20 left against Bama

Anybody wasting perfectly good alcohol is not, nor deserves to be a LSU Tiger fan.

This was going on back in the late 80's and 90's when I was in undergrad and grad school at LSU. Waste of alcohol if you ask me.

Yes..but as op said ..usually big games and tds.. but not like the past.. some bourbon but not uncommon for a few beer cans to go.. I have seen numerous players parents and family catch a beer can on the back of their head.. those of us sitting there understand the dynamics but some are just visiting..

Tends to be more beer and skunk weed smell in the air then the sweet smell of bourbon.

I wish I had a buck for every cup I threw in the north endzone

In the 70’s we were too broke to waste booze like that. We drank it and partied all night. Bourbon.

We used to do shots of JD every time the Tigers scored. I was in the student section in 1977 when LSU stomped Rice 77-0. Carlos Carson had 5 TD catches and we all got so drunk, we barely made it home. Good times!

I took my sister, a UT grad, to the 96 Peach Bowl. When we blocked Clemson’s FG to win, the Jack & Coke showered down. I was high fiving everyone then looked at my sister who was shaking all of it off. I looked at her said, “It’s your first J&C shower!”

It was pretty standard in my day 90’s/2000’s. It was expected you’d catch random streams of bourbon and coke or a plastic cup to the head. The student section was a party.

After such a resounding victory, it's not a bad idea to get drunk. 5 TDs - that sounds absolutely incredible! Who else has done it? I'm not of that generation, so I didn't see that game.
