My thoughts?

You’ve gotta have the dudes. Been that way since dodgeball on the playground. We haven’t had them on both sides since 2019. We have them now.

Kelly will start 0-1 as he always does at LSU.

Basically, it's what Ole Miss did last year with I think most would say disappointing results.

An argument - and a good one - could be made that Ole Miss had as good a talent as anyone in the SEC last year and they lost to Kentucky, LSU and Florida.

Hard to say how all these players will mesh and accept roles and all that. The egos and the money issues will absolutely have to be managed somehow.

But the talent on defense and the depth of talent overall has been significantly upgraded - of that there is not debate.

This seems like just the new norm. You either pay a lot for top HS kids & pay to keep them or pay a proven transfer. Doesn't seem like we can compete for as many top high school recruits with schools like Texas and OSU. We have to go with the next best thing, & that's the portal.

Hard to say. The talent is apparently there but will that talent come together into a well oiled machine? That is the ultimate question

LSU isn't doing sheet with Joe Sloan as OC.

Like it or not, that’s what college football is now.

We’re at the beginning of an arms race.

When we are scared of Clemson during the regular season and frightened of OSU in the post season…yea, I’d say they have.

You mean 2 of the top 3 programs in the CFP era? Some LSU fans have an inflated sense of LSU’s place in the CF landscape. They were never Alabama under Saban level that they should expect to beat everyone. Compete for titles? Yes. Look down on Clemson and Ohio State? No.

The videos and pictures of him having the players over last week was absolutely fake and edited x 10. I run around the lakes and run past his house several times a week, and on that day I remember being surprised by the amount of vehicles in front of his house. As I got closer I saw that he had hired an outside catering company that setup 2 of their own grills across the street from CBK’s house, they cooked all of the food. Do you think Saban would have players/recruits over for a meal at HIS house, and not be the one to grill a burger or a steak? Do you think Saban would hire someone to bring their own grill to his house to prepare food for his players?

In the ocean of horrible takes that is TD, these two paragraphs stand out as being exceptionally and memorably stupid. BK doesn’t grill his own steak!?

Congrats.

Uh, we smoked those fools last time we played either…expectations have changed. No big deal…If we beat Florida at home in game three we will be fine. If we start 1-2 we are fricked… with one of the easier schedules in the SEC.

Two years ago LSU almost the entirety of its offense returning. Much of it was "homegrown" outside of, most notably, the QB. On defense LSU lost several contributors from the 2022 season. Kelly said in year one he took a lot of transfers because he had to rebuild the numbers from where they were in 2021, but his plan going forward was to build more in the "traditional" way and take a lower % of transfers. LSU wasn't overly aggressive in the portal replacing the losses from the 2021 defense...and it showed up with a disastrous performance that completely wasted one of the best offenses in school history.

With another, productive, 5th year starting QB BK is not making that mistake again. He wants guys with experience and production ready to go for game 1, which is a game that quite literally can chart the course for LSU's CFP hopes. Lose at Clemson and LSU has very little margin for error in SEC play. Beat Clemson and the path to the CFP become much, much, more realistic.

Will you care where they are from if they are lifting a trophy in January?

Man expectations around here have really changed. Les got ran out of town for this, and O was on the hot seat at 9-3. BK hasn't done better than 9-3, even with a heisman winner.

“ we could possibly have an entire defensive line and defensive backfield filled with transfers “ first off no we won’t. Dj pickett is a day 1 starter at corner , good chance reliford starts at one of the edge spots , mckinley and breaux will start in the interior , spears has a good chance to beat out Cooley for one of the safety spots next to AJ. Theirs nothing wrong with pairing transfers that fill holes or even add depth next to what you already have

If we didn’t go after these transfers everyone would melt over us not adapting, etc. This is the current state of affairs and we’re going all in. NCAA sports are just business now, for everyone included, that means players.

Stack the bench deep and swing for the fences.
