They didn’t even just use bleachers. The cheap fricks used the same bleachers from the old box

I hated it from day one. It looks like they had a good idea and then half assed it. It’s a vanilla stadium, there’s nothing outstanding about it, the only thing it had going for it when it opened was it was new.

LSU chose to use the same bleachers from the old box because they were cheap as frick and claim it was to keep the history
Lsu chose to put the bullpen on the foul lines because they are cheap as frick and then claim it was for tradition
LSU chose the cheap as frick batters eye and nothing behind the fences because they are cheap as frick
All of those issues are lsus fault
You're not wrong in that sense, but that's not the point of this conversation.
The Box won't suddenly become up to date because they have chair backs down the line or a nice batters eye. It will still be out of date, which again...isn't LSU's fault.

Chairbwcks, a berm/real batters eye, real bullpens, and poof, it’s up to date

It’s just one set of bleachers in LF. Jeez, some of y’all are acting like all the bleachers are from the Old Box. No other bleachers could even fit in LF. That’s the problem with the location of the New Box, there isn’t a lot of room, particularly in the outfield, to be able to fix much. Can do chairback seating down the lines, but they won’t be able to build a berm or anything. No way do they have enough room for that, and surely they would frick it up.

here come the 'concessions' comments

How does the Box rank in capacity???? Top 5 I would guess.
When the Box was built they didn’t put a lot of gingerbread in, but they went for size.

I think if Johnson gets his wish, we will see at least some changes. He hates having the bullpens on the side and in the open like that. He will push to get them moved, and the most obvious choice would be adding them where the two outfield bleachers are. If they do that, they could build chairback seats behind the bullpen raised up. It would be less rows unless they expand past where the concrete walkway is back there.
I also think you will get more pushback from the ones with the money as we get closer to the 15 year mark. This is about the time frame where renovations really need to start happening to get things current and in good working order.

I think it just needs a few more championships on the intimidator.

Nobody actually cares if the bleachers are from the Old Box or not. It's the fact that they are cheap and uncomfortable.

They would have to move some things around, but they definitely could make room.

The main thing they can improve is the fan experience. It was much better at the old box where the tailgates were closer to the park and it made for a lot better atmosphere.
I would like to see something like the TD Ameritrade park where you can walk around the whole park above the seating, meaning even with the concession area in the grandstand. And do the bull pens the same way.
As far as concessions well the quality sure needs to improve.

I’ve never traveled for games, but I’ve also never sat in the chair back section and I’ve never had a problem with bleachers.
I do wish we had a cool outfield area that’s technically not part of the stadium for the students to get rowdy (even though my student days are behind me)

I love Alex Box. As far as it being "cheap", it is a baseball facility and it serves its purpose. Throwing money around like it was free is a big part of our whole national problem.

I would rather have just kept old alex box. I dont need amenities. I want history and atmosphere. Old box had it. Concessions and seats dont really matter to me.

Bleachers have to be more comfortable than sitting on a berm.
Buy a chair back seat and bleachers are fine. Sitting on the ground is not.

Alex Box is a fine place to watch a game. Most nowadays like things in stadiums that dont have anything to do with watching the game. Alex Box sucks in that department.

What is the problem with the ads? Many ballparks have signs and signs just never were an issue for me.
