I would personally prefer if it goes to a stud recruit, giving the potential of having someone have it for 3 or more years. Leonard, etc.

I got an old-school purple LSU game jersey in my closet. It's #7 in honor of the great Bert Jones

Still hard to believe that John Giles was given #7. Dude must've been unreal at practicing.

Players love it. It’s a special thing to do for LSU. Why does it matter so much for a fan?

Can players just get a number and keep it all the way through?
Are you of the thought that with a different jersey number, Treydez and Weeks would not have gotten hurt this season?

I’m of the thought that since 2018, the player designated with #7 has been hurt/finished for the season/played below standards.
Sorry to be superstitious, but it is a sport, where fans become extremely superstitious.

I can't believe this bothers people enough to actually start a thread about it.

So you can sit here and tell me that you honestly believe that if Weeks had been wearing a different jersey number, his ankle wouldn't have got rolled over in the aTm game? Or, you believe that his ankle would have gotten rolled over, but it wouldn't have broke, if he was wearing a different jersey number?

Please tell me you don't really believe this. Really listen to what you are saying. Come on.

You see the problem is that the numeral "7" is not balanced, it weighs more on the right side of the player, putting stress on that side. This causes injuries.

It bothers people that:
We beat a top 25 team and dropped in the polls
A&M band played at halftime
A video screen goes out during the game….

…..but this thread is just nonsense.

It is cursed. I think the curse started with that wide receiver who came over from Texas Tech that Orgeron gave number 7 to before he even played a down.

The PLAYERS care about #7. What you say about it doesn't really matter.

I don’t care if it’s a Golden Girls thing.
I’m just stating that whoever gets #7 seems to have an uphill battle.

It just feels like a bit of a dog and pony show when they announce who is going to be wearing it. There is no need for an announcement. The best players have worn the best numbers since highschool. Showing up to practice wearing 7 is enough
