What’s the difference between “start” and a start?

I don’t think he should start just yet, but he should get a little more playing time for later down the line. Save your post for when they go 8-4 and play in the Texas Bowl.

We are all gonna go with whoever lane puts out there.

We don’t make any decisions.

In all seriousness, I wonder if Chambliss showed in practice what he showed in the games? Remember Chambliss didn't sign with OM until April and didn't participate in spring training. Maybe it took him some time to adjust. Not implying this is an absolute, just a possibility.

I think it’s a good thing to have a Landon Clark waiting in the wings. Whether for this year or next year, it’s good to know we have a competent back-up QB or QB in waiting.

And I like that Lane is giving him garbage time. Even though it causes threads like this.

So, you want to replace a former Big 12 freshman of the year, All-Big 12 selection for a RS SO from ELON, after a 2-0 start with both games exceeding 400+ yards offense….??

No, I can’t see any problem with the team/players second guessing that decision and loses respect for your coaching decision. No…brilliant!!

Quite obvious that most comments/posters have not, or do not, have the attention span to actually read an entire post, follow up or thread. They latch onto to one word, sentence & presume/react/misread or fail to read the main point. Hard to understand or respond to “suggestions, ideas, options” when you’ve not read what they actually were/are.

There was no mention of replacing Leavitt, or any argument or arguing about QB’s! There was no “questioning” Lane or Weise’s decisions. He’ll, there never was a concern and/or need for any person, or coach, to even consider a “possible” option/trial till just 24 hours ago + 3 interceptions in one half.

I’m not discussing or concerned with the 80% who don’t/can’t read or comprehend, process options, ideas or logic. But there ARE many here who WILL see the possible benefits, perhaps brilliance being presented here as to how/why it makes factually documented, reasoned sense to “try + use” Clark, and to even start him, until he & the offense sputters (or for just a series or 2 with the entire first string, under pressure, not cleanup….just to “see”)…..AND to allow Leavitt some time to “think” + settle down. It’s done all the time, to great players, especially after several serious mistakes.

The other ingenious benefit, outcome of “starting” Landon Clark @ Ole Miss is that THEY ARE EXPECTING, PREPARING FOR LEAVITT! It could/would Totally Flip the Script on their Field/Stadium to Surprise them Initially, Throw them Off, Unbalance their Defensive Plan!

Again, what’s the worse that could happen? A 99 Yard Pick 6?

For the 80% ~ Try reading slower maybe to assist in being able to follow a premise or point. And to not appear an idiot, it always helps, when reading or commenting on anything, to first actually read statements made, from beginning to end.

And I guaranty you, both Kiffin & Weis, have already precisely thought about my plan/idea. It would not surprise or shock me one bit to see Landon Clark start against Ole Miss. Cause Lane thinks out of the Box, and thinks Ahead. I, however, don’t expect, nor would I be bothered, upset in the least @ whoever starts.

One last thing that the 80% will fail to see, consider is this:

I would indeed HATE TO SEE Sam Leavitt’s season or confidence (even career?) SKUNKED if he were to suddenly throw a series of interceptions or horrible passes, as he has done, in his - First Ever (SEC) Real/Actual - HOSTILE Environment + CRITICAL Game! Far Different making Big Mistakes in front of fans that love you! Leavitt has Never faced what He will this Saturday.

Many great, promising QB’s/Pitchers, and other athletes, seasons/careers have been ruined by further exposing, rather than protecting them with an appropriately “timed” - “time out” by sitting briefly on the bench.
