If your friend has medical debt from a serious condition, loan the money. If your friend is in debt because of his lifestyle, don’t loan the money.
On the flip side, I look at loaning people money as go away payments. Also, I have agreed to loan money before only with a promissory note . You will be surprised how many friends got upset and said forget it. Good luck but don’t beat yourself up. It’s your money.
