They won’t let the SEC to make a last minute rule intended to circumvent a previous ruling

This is clearly a last-minute rule intended to circumvent a previous court’s ruling. I really don’t think the courts aren’t going to allow something like that. It’s an anti-trust violation in my opinion.

Are they doing it so they can play at LSU? Are we still offering them a spot?

The SEC and B1G 10 did a terrible job with the language. If it's truly the case that individuals who choose to pass on college and play professional sports have no place in college athletics, they're going to have to explain to the courts why they've allowed baseball players that wash out of the minors to return to college and be eligible to compete. Whether they are playing the same sport is irrelevant to the hill the conferences are standing on, the legal fact is that they allowed professional athletes to return and compete in college. Either professional athletes have the ability to compete in college or they don't.

I don't think anyone cares about getting these two particular players or getting former pro athletes on their team but what however what absolutely will and should be a hill to die on is that someone would expect LSU to stand by and Watch other schools that are there competitors like Ole Miss exploit injunctions to get Superstars back on their team and then sit here and let politics Drive the the SEC into telling them that they aren't allowed to utilize the same structure and you don't have to agree with this sentiment but it's absolutely a major Point moving forward as to what a school is willing to tolerate from their own conference

You realize Green is not a TE right? So in theory Wright would be a starter

He is absolutely a TE. We have packages with him lead blocking as a FB

This was done last minute so schools dont play the players while they fight it out in court, that part is obvious

It's a run-on, but it's an absolutely 100 percent correct run-on that I agree with fully!

Green might not be putting his hand in the grass a ton, but he is absolutely a TE still and I doubt Wright and him would be on the field at the same time a ton.
For 1, Wright hasnt even practiced with this team at all yet and we play a game in 1.5 weeks. Even if he's familiar with the offense, he still hasnt had 1 practice with anyone else on this team yet on offense, there's an acclimation period for everyone.
For 2, Wright is not a good run blocker, he was actually graded out worse than Green there by PFF last season for reference, one of the worst run blockers in the entire SEC at TE last season. Believe it was a 43.2 grade when i looked a few days ago.

You make a great point that I haven’t raised. They didn’t put the nuance of no professionals in the sport they played professionally in. Sloppy for conferences to rush something out like this because they were unprepared

Whats worse is this is just more following the B10 lead as the SEC sinks further into being little brother there. We just continually mirror whatever they come out with at this point, and are clearly behind on the field too.

Theres 16 players in the lawsuit. Only 3 would be LSU guys. The media is just portraying it to be only LSU because the suit is in Louisiana and "LSU and Kiffin bad" helps get clicks right now

The players that are trying to come back we not able to take advantage of the 5 in 5 new ruling correct? This was just a way to allow them to have the choice they didn't 4 months ago.
Of all the dumb rulings like the Chambliss one amongst others, this one seemed the most sane.

These court cases will be very interesting to see play out. Nobody wants pro players on college sports, but I do not see how the SEC can legally penalize a school for playing someone who, per the courts, is legally allowed to play. These players are essentially going from one job to another.
When it is all said and done you may end up having a judge rule that the SEC is a professional league and then all hell will break loose.
