If you are a defensive player, carry a clip of that play with you to show the refs. "You guys said this dude was NOT targeting, so how the hell can you call it on what I did?"

It’s absolute bullshite how a TE as big as him gets “protection” from all kinds of touches

It was also BS calling a block below the knees on our DB against that guy. He hit him at the belt line.

Afraid I'm going to have to call BS on this. LSU is Bama's biggest threat to winning the SEC West any given year. We will never get those calls.

The replay clearly showed the LSU player's snap back violently when hit in the head

I don't complain about things like this too much but this was 100% an SEC call.

That was a terrible call

I expect games to be fixed, but when they compromise player safety, it really makes me mad. LSU players have taken many cheap shots with no call, yet we lost an All American LB a few years ago for a big game for simply pushing a player.

The SEC has reached WWE level

Totally agree. It was targeting.

I'm also salty about the missed call on the first down after review. I thought he clearly crossed the line to make.

The officiating crew Saturday was not favorable for us. I still think we would have loss if the game was evenly officiated but the bad calls/missed calls didn't help.

They set the tone early in the game when they didn’t call the blatant PF on UGA’s first punt. I knew after that LSU had no shot. I prefer a blowout than to lose by being cheated. UGA was the better team by far. They didn’t need the blatant cheating, but I get it. Just sucks when the SEC basically says “we don’t care about players, just the agenda”.

Yes it should have been called, but can I just say how supremely stupid your guy was for not calling a fair catch with Green obviously coming in hot? Even if he had timed the contact properly, the receiver was taking a stupid risk-reward option. Not to mention, the replay also showed on obvious LSU hold, also not called, on McConkey.

Classic targeting call and why the rule was put in place.
I would still like to know the reasoning that wasn’t targeting.

And our RB had to come out and we saw a pic of him shaking his head, while their DB stays in the game. WTH?! Awful call.
I'm a TCU fan for the CFPs.

I’ve been saying forever that the SEC conference officiating is the WORST in every college sports in the NCAA.. it will never change…

Agreed but that's not what happened. What happened was the defender got there early, and it was obvious during real time. Two refs standing there and they let it ride.

It's OK. They got UGA plenty of makeup calls, including allowing them to target a player and get away with it. I think it more than evened out.

Nobody’s blaming the loss on the refs but that was the most obvious nod to UGA’s playoff stakes anyone could’ve imagined.

The refs did not realize that it was a UGA backup player called for the potential targeting play. They probably were thinking it would be bad for an UGA starter to miss the first half of the playoff game. If hey knew it was a backup player they would have allowed the targeting call to stand.

That’s the 3rd or 4th targeting call we saw reversed this year.

I just don’t understand how they can take off targeting but not still enforce an unnecessary roughness type penalty.

That's exactly what we thought at the game watch party I was at.

The SEC didn't want any starter from a playoff team to miss any time, so frick LSU and player safety.
