I'm betting:

Texas, Ark, OK, Mizz
LSU, A&M, Ole Miss, Miss State

A&M came to the SEC to get away from Texas.

I really don’t get LSU fans denial here.

Total meetings

LSU vs UF-71
LSU vs TAMU 63
LSU vs Auburn 58

LSU and TAMU have similar backgrounds-military ag and mechanical schools

Similar alumni footprints recruiting grounds etc etc

Don’t shoot the messenger. I’m just regurgitating what was said when this was first brought up several years ago. The theory was the powers that be broke the conference into two halves, based on historical data from the last 20 years or some fixed period of time. Broken down as follows:

Upper tier in no particular order
LSU
Bama
Auburn
Fla
Texas
A&M
UGA
OU

Lower
Miss
Miss St
Ark
Ten
SC
Van
Uk
Mizzou

Upper tier had to play two other upper tier teams and one lower. Opposite scenario for the lower tier.

Thus LSU’s predicted opponents were:
Bama, A&M, Ole Miss

Bama’s were predicted as Aub, LSU and Ten, which just happened to coincide with Ten getting good again. Saban didn’t like it.

We have quite literally never played a historically important game against A&M, in no small part due to the Aggies being comic relief for college football as a concept.

And I do appreciate the UF/AU comparisons because LSU will abandon these two great series so that we can be stuck with these absolute losers forever

I’d want Auburn, Florida and Ole Miss

I’d want Bama/Georgia/Texas/Oklahoma in the SEC Championship every other year

Now DAVA only has to find 3 crappy OOC teams to schedule.

1.) SWAC/HBCU school. (Band)
2.) Jacksonville State (Band)
3.) Southern Miss (Band)
4.) Tuck Fulane or Southwest Louisiana Junior College at Lafayette. In-State Little Brother practice game to beat the shite out of and shut their Jealous Little Brother fans up. (Tuck Fulane needs to be on the schedule in any case)...............

Ratings would suggest keeping Bama, correct?

I had advocated for this when we expanded in 2012.

I thought the permanent opponents and the fact you could be in college 4 years and not play a team from the other division seemed unbalanced.

Especially if your permanent opponent was fricking Vanderbilt.

scheduling a major nonconference game is literally a requirement of the new 9 game SEC schedule.

Its going to be Bama. That has been a marquee match up in the SEC for so long, its a huge revenue generating event the media can't pass up.

The requirement is to schedule a P4 opponent i.e. Pitt/SMU/Wake/Duke/Indiana

Not a "Big" OOC game i.e. FSU/Clemson/Michigan/Ohio St, etc., which was his point

I mean lsu vs tamu literally changed college OT rules.

LSU prevented tamu from a BCS title game appearance in 2012

Alabama
Ole Miss
Florida

We already have 3 perm opponents in the current set up. I don’t see why those 3 teams would change since they were chosen previously under the same scenario.

I think Florida will keep Georgia, Tennessee and SC or Kentucky.

SEC isn't gonna let teams get away with scheduling scrubs. They want that TV money. And the big paydays for schools from opening the season with a high profile game are not going to go away.
