Yeah well it happens.

1986 - CWS
1987 - CWS
1988 - no bid
1989 - CWS
1990 - CWS
1991 - CWS title

I think Ole Miss was the 2022 CWS champ and failed to make the tournament in 2023.

It kind of is. Rarely would be a better way to say it.

I don’t think we miss the tourney this year, but at this point, hosting is pretty much out the window. They would have to win 9 of the last 12 SEC games at least. I just don’t see that happening.

Someone is going to be pissed though when they get LSU as a 3 seed in their regional.

The preseason hype I read on this board:
"Man, I wonder how deep this team can go into the season undefeated?"

I sure hope this is true because they were historically bad after they won their championship and didn’t even qualify for the sec tournament iirc

So, it seems to be fairly common in baseball.

I wonder how often it happens in basketball?

I know Florida sucked after they lost Noah and Horford.

I think UNC sucked the year after they won in 2009.

11-19 in conference ain't getting us there, and that's what you're looking at.

But we'll win the remaining midweeks. I think.

End the early transfer portal. It's not fair for teams that keep advancing during the tournament run their primary focus is on going forward in the tournament.

So not long ago at all. And not long before Mississippi State did it as well. Got it.
