You weren't around in the Jim Smith days (late 60s/early 70s).
Smith was the equipment manager for the football team - his real day job - who also coached the baseball team because he was a shortstop in high school or something
The results were pretty much commensurate.

I wouldn't call it a "must win". Nice to have, sure but our RPI won't be helped either way.
What matters are the 6 remaining conference games.
Go 4-2 and I think we have a pretty decent shot at an at-large. And I don't think one and done in the tourney will hurt that.
Go 3-3 and the chances drop, a lot. Not to zero but they won't be good. We'd better win 3 in the tourney to have a decent shot.
Go 2-4, 1-5 or 0-6 and see ya next year.

You'd have to be old to remember this but Lyn cut his teeth doing Alexandria Aces games way back in the day. I enjoyed listening to him as a kid. Christ how fricking old is the guy now??
