You weren't around in the Jim Smith days (late 60s/early 70s).

Smith was the equipment manager for the football team - his real day job - who also coached the baseball team because he was a shortstop in high school or something

The results were pretty much commensurate.
If Curley Hallman had coached baseball these'd be his boys
Of course you are.

That said, USCe must be the worst D1 team in the country
I wouldn't call it a "must win". Nice to have, sure but our RPI won't be helped either way.

What matters are the 6 remaining conference games.

Go 4-2 and I think we have a pretty decent shot at an at-large. And I don't think one and done in the tourney will hurt that.

Go 3-3 and the chances drop, a lot. Not to zero but they won't be good. We'd better win 3 in the tourney to have a decent shot.

Go 2-4, 1-5 or 0-6 and see ya next year.

Sorry if Germans but did you know Blanche spent a year at LSU?

No shite. 1992-93. Transferred to American U (I think) after a year
Any chance at what? Fricking the homecoming queen?
I'll tell you who we aren't beating - SLU and Tulane
Maybe he and Harold can open competing Popeyes across the street from each oth -

oh wait Harold got drafted, nvm

You'd have to be old to remember this but Lyn cut his teeth doing Alexandria Aces games way back in the day. I enjoyed listening to him as a kid. Christ how fricking old is the guy now??
Plan on either 10-20 or 11-19. Forget about 13.
I don't even know if we're winning the USCe series now.

So, at least 50%
Doesn't make a damn bit of difference. These guys are watching the regionals on TV.

Sorry to hear this. Wonderful obit; he sounds like an absolutely ace guy.
that Jim Smith guy was coaching
11-19 in conference now sounds pretty optimistic

The effort level will be similar to what you saw from Bama vs. ULM in Saban's first season over there

Kinda like this weekend but worse, iow
Money's in the bank, brah. They'll show up the rest of the season with a bare minimum amount of effort, then slink off into the night. All good as far as they're concerned
We may have teh suck this year but at least we're not Coppin State.

38 runs on 12 hits, you say?

That's because their pitchers walked 25 and hit 9 others.

Linescore

11-19 in conference ain't getting us there, and that's what you're looking at.

But we'll win the remaining midweeks. I think.
