unwillingness to ever give Burrow anything more than a strung together offensive line
Burrow didn’t care or he wouldn’t have stayed beyond his then existing contract.

Nobody cares. This is an lsu board. Almost every nfl team has lsu players on it, the bengals are not special. They are not our honorary nfl team. Please stfu about the bengals.
Then don’t read my post jackass. I put together a pretty well thought out post with solid ideas. If it bothers you that much move on. LSU’s best football player ever, happens to be the QB of the Bengals. Get off your high horse and stop being a douche.

It wasn't until Burrow was drafted that they even built an indoor practice facility.
Built is a strong word. It’s basically just a giant inflatable.

Does Zac Taylor have the final say so on what players come and go? Is his signature on the bottom of paychecks? It boils down to a terrible owner, who has always been cheap. Well run organizations win rings, players win games. Don't be surprised if Burrow is moved in the next 2 years when his contract kicks in. Someone will gladly take him and his contract.

But in the end, great QBs can overcome average WRs. Brady did it often in New England. Mahomes did it just last year. Locking up a ton of money in WRs and RBs is a bad business decisions.
Mahomes and Brady also were willing to bend on their contracts to free up money for better players elsewhere on the team.
In fact (and it makes me sick to say this because I hate the Pats) but it seems like they were always team-oriented instead of diva chasing. Bellychuckles always seemed to be able to pull a good team together that was actually TOGETHER during their reign of terror.
I'm not sure Burrow or Chase are willing to take the same approach. At some point the goal changed from being the best player in your position on the best team to getting the most money, regardless of how well or poorly your team does as a result.
It isn't sustainable, and teams that cater to divas are always going to be boom-or-bust depending on what mercenaries they have to pay and when those players think they deserve more money than their peers.
Makes me love players like Mahomes even more.

The bengals have the highest cap spend in the entire nfl this season
The “their cheap” is pull straight from deep in the anus of people

I hope Burrow one day has a chance to be a free agent and pick his team.
He seems like a Miami guy to be honest.

Nah, he seems more like a Raiders guy to me.

The article mostly mention offensive players. If you watched the game last night you know that the Bengals defense is fricking atrocious. The Commanders scored on every fricking drive. With the exception of one field goal, they were all touchdown drives. The greatest offense in the history of the NFL couldn’t compete with that.

I guess you don't understand how the Salary cap works. Their cap number is due to a number of reasons 1 being they did spend a lot in offseasson contracts a few years ago and those cap numbers are hitting now instead of the front end of the contract. 2. The Franchise Tag on Tee is decent size cap hit. 3. Joe Burrows extension.
If they would have extended Chase they could have minimized his cap number, same with Tee Higgins. Now signing both of them might never have been on the table because they both are wanting WR1 money so that goes out the window but if you extend players and don't use the Franchise Tag you can minmize the cap hit. I don't understand how you are claiming the Bengals aren't cheap. They have always been cheap which is why a few years ago with their offseason signings it was shocking to a number of media members and fans. That is what setup their Back-to-Back AFC Championship appearance run and superbowl run.
If they were never planning on Signing Tee they needed to trade him because they have put themselves in a position where they are getting 0 for him and increase their cap hit this season. Same situation is going to present itself with Chase. But if Chase gets Traded or leaves in Free Agency they will not get another contract with Joe and likely just turned him into Matt Stafford with the Lions and he will eventually leave as well.

I really don't understand why they've handled the Tee Higgins situation the way they have, it's confusing to me.

Honestly, I can’t wait for the day Joe Burrow tells Cincinnati to stick it, and do whatever they can trade him but he wants out of Cincinnati, that place is a quarterback graveyard.

Watching the game the other night it just didn't look like Joe was having fun. I think a big part of that is Chase. Chase has no emotional control. His antics played big part in them losing to the Chiefs.

From an outsider point, I’ll bet you, Dallas would give their left nut to have a quarterback like Joe Burrow

I hope they do. Get Taylor out of there.

Burrow is now making huge money, and it just so happens the Bengals owner is the only guy who can’t give out multiple big contracts, as his only source of income is from his actual football team the Bengals. Respect to his family for what they built, but it’s almost not fair to the Bengals, that they have an owner who is capped out, and can’t compete with everybody else.
That's not how the NFL works anymore. Every owner is a billionaire, and every team is making huge profits. This isn't european soccer and no salary cap with rich owners paying more than others. The owner isn't paying out of his pocket extra money to keep or get certain players in the NFL. Hell it's not even the NBA where huge penalties are levied on teams for staying over the tax line. Every team is in the same boat salary wise, and every team is raking in money every single year. It's the most profitable sports league in the world, for every team.

I agree. The NFL and super bowl chances are about windows. The Saints for example had a pretty big window during the Brees years, but most fans knew when that window had closed.
The window has closed for cinci. Fire the coach, rebuild the defense and OL and make one more run with Burrow.

A leader like Joe would do wonders for that franchise.
