Too much to put on one game. You could have an SEC West team run the table, be 12-0 heading into the SEC championship, have played several top 10 teams so far, and get beat in an uncharacteristic game by a 10-3 SEC East team that they could have beat in regular season, and get knocked out.

I liked the BCS, could have kept that system and do a top 4 with that.

Honestly, seeing the Bowl Selection Committee show on ESPN tonight was laughable. Saying that pitting two teams from the same division in the championship game is what killed the BCS, then having people argue that Bama should be in the top 4 cuz Tua's limp.

Yea, lets put those same two teams in the top 4 again!

Or. Just allow all 5 power 5 conferences to have a team and then one at large bid that goes to the best of the non-power 5 teams.

1 and 2 have byes.

3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 two weeks after conference champ week. Then regular playoffs in January.

It's better than every poll claiming a champion and there being multiple.

Georgia and Alabama were the two best teams a couple years ago. I would rather see it expanded to 8 teams then to only pick from conference champs.

This “committee” is 100% owned and run by the networks. It was set up this way because it’s much easier to control a handful of people to get the ratings they want than it is to control hundreds of writers, coaches and computer modules.

I mean they’ve done pretty well in the 5 or years they’ve been doing it. Can’t really look at any year and not think they got it right

yep, that's why the AP poll and coaches poll was done away with and the BCS (which was kinda working at the end) was brought in.

Go back to BCS, use 6 teams where #1 and #2 get a bye and DONE. Let things flow naturally.
Stop trying to increase and manipulate market share thru the conferences.

Not that hard........ Road map of how to do is right in front of us.... FCS, DII, DIII, etc. D1 football is the only NCAA sport with out a true playoff. In the end money wins on this, period. That's why we have what we have.

Worse than the old Bowl and Poll System or the BCS? I don't think so.

The computer only model had its flaws too, The coaches poll is not a poll of coaches. They don’t have time for that shite. SIDs fill out their responses. The AP is subjective as hell and relies on “brand” recognition. The computer models are flawed.
There has to be a human element.
Regardless, the CFP committee results have closely mirrored the simulated BCS models.

Take 8

5 Power 5 champs
3 at large.

Play one extra week at home field of highest seed then got to the final four and championship game at neutral sites. All problems solved.

Oh. So Oregon or Utah deserve to be #5 over Bama? I would love to know how you justify this.

But I'm pretty sure all I'm going to get is "Bama is a media darling" or "Bama has favoritism", blah blah.

God damn you people are idiots. 2/3 of the BCS was based on HUMAN voters. Do you know how much 2/3 is? It's 66.66%

You think all of those voters didn't use the eye test to put LSU at #2 in 2007?
