You try out for an NFL team and don’t make it, go get a job. The bubbas on here would absolutely be on the other side of this if the focus wasn’t on the purple on gold.

We are 100% against this if the rules are being applied to everybody. You can't selectively decide what TROs you will listen to and which ones you won't listen too.

I don’t care where they go play but they should get to play. They were purposely fricked over by the NCAA and now the conferences. They should have made the 5 for 5 ruling back in February and made it activate once tournament was over with giving all student athletes the information to make an informed decision. They stripped them of the ability to do that.

Thats fine but Daquan Wright put this in motion before he was cut from the NFL. I dont blame any other school for trying this either. You deserve to get lit up for this shortsighted uninformed take. They didnt try out for the NFL, they had been told they HAD to go to the NFL because they were out of eligibility. They were then told they had a 5th year AFTER they were told they had to go to the NFL.

What if you tried out for an NFL team b/c the NCAA said you were out of eligibility but then said retroactively that you indeed weren't out of eligibility? Any wiggle room there?

They weren’t stripped of information. They knew exactly what the rules were when they entered the NFL Draft or signed an NFL training camp contract. They gambled on making the league, lost the gamble, and now want a do-over because a judge changed the rules months later. Changing the rules retroactively to bail out players who chose the pros isn't 'fairness'—it’s a safety net for a bad business decision

Well, bubba. The NCAA's plan was for the 5-for-5 rule to apply moving forward. It’s individual court judges who retroactively applied it to older classes, creating an overnight legal loophole. If the SEC and Big Ten didn't step in to close that loophole, college football rosters would be completely destabilized right before the season starts

So you’re saying that if they wanted to play college ball that they should have gambled on the potential of a 5 for 5 solution? And since they did not, they’re now SOL? That protections provided to every other class should not apply to them because they took the only opportunity available to them at the time? And that if you disagree it’s because you are an LSU fan?
