Simple. You beat bama by spreading the field and exploiting the middle of the field. Which is the natural weakness of a high press defense that Saban runs. enmsingers offense will do exactly that Slants , TE over the middle , fly routes down the sideline to keep em honest. Play fake to keep the linebackers honest. Basic football 101 with a different look at the line of scrimmage.

If you're not predictable calling plays and the players execute, you generally do just fine. I'm not so much worried about the "scheme". They just need to mix it up and execute. Plenty of playmakers will be on the field.

You need to watch RPO videos on YouTube. It’s pretty simple. You can even see examples of it on the videos from today’s practice. When Burrow and Brennan are working with hand offs to the running backs Brennan is starring at what would either be a line backer or a corner back. RPOs are designed to react to what the defense does and I believe that is what we will do. It is what Georgia did with their QB last year. It has nothing to do with a QB being mobile. It is a Run/Pass Option. So example is based on what the defense does you either hand off or hit a quick slant or something like that. It is a QB decision and a read either at the line of scrimmage or as the play develops. It is why O is hanging his hat on Grading out the QBs because RPO offense are all about decisions.

Throw quick passes. Bubble screens to WRs. Quick slants. Develop a damn screen pass to running backs. Get the QB (Burrow) in a rhythm, comfortable (ya know, what other, successful teams do). Rather than, run up the middle twice and get sacked on 3rd and long. Obviously, mix in runs.

Yes, the rpo is a give/take thing though. It's ideal to be balanced and good at running too but if defense sits on pass you will have numbers to be successful running.

I think people are mistaken in how “RPO” or Run/Pass/Option will fit in to this scheme. LSU will have 3 or 4 actual RPO plays in the playbook they can and will execute in a game. RPO is not an offensive scheme unto itself. But like others have said, expect zone blocking, pro style formations. Interesting to note Devin White said Ensminger is modeling a specific NFL team. Who could it be? I could see Los Angeles Chargers (rb by committee, west coast style, pass to set up run)

The problem has been the o-line was horrible at executing the inside rb screen while miles was coach. Probably were too busy perfecting the toss dive, lol. Not blaming it all on miles but they were bad at it.

Still don’t understand why Ed Orgeron got rid of Matt Canada. He’s really good at what he does...

I think there's a reason first Sullivan was brought in and then they aggressively pursued Burrow.
What I anticipate, which is part of the W Coast offense, is reading defensive positioning pre-snap which will determine the reads (the priority or order) of the WRs/passes.
For example:
play is called and the original order of read is X, Y, Z where X is doing an out and up (i.e. QB's default is to look for big play).
However, S is deep and on hashes of X. But because S is cheating, CB over Y is deep(ish). First read now becomes Y for a hitch or snap pass. And QB reads the LB/SS, not the CB/S (because if you've already adjusted the route they are not in the play by definition).
So no really audibles, not really a conventional reliance on QB progressions. It's more of a 'triage' of progressions. By default it causes two things:
1. Constant adjustment of the back 7
2. Makes you more opportunistic in taking what the D is giving you
It is a simple pseudo-dumbed down way of doing those 2 things as a matter of course without having to teach & execute a full spread or RPO offense.
The reason I mentioned Sullivan and Burrow at the beginning is because it puts alot of complexity on the WRs, NFL level complexitiy (Sullivan) and for the QB it simplifies matters post-snap, it puts a lot of pressure on them pre-snap and it takes experience to recognize what your looking at and how D's disguise certain things. In a way it takes a very analytical QB to, over the course of a game, figure out what those disguises are (Burrow).

RPO with only 2 quarterbacks is scary. We need to limit hits on them if possible. I'm betting we run alot of shotgun formations mixed in with I formation and ace. This will resemble more of a West coast offense imo.

My fear is where that kind of multiple/pro style spread that’s just a fricking mess.

Probably Rams style offense, lots of bootlegs during the spring game

yes, he's talked about so many concepts, and that combined with the fact that he hasn't coordinated an offense in so long is what worries me most about this whole squad; well, that, and i'm not sure if O hasn't lost the team

Well, taking what the D gives you is what was missing in the miles era and what drove me crazy about him. That is totally welcomed. Sounds Taylormade for Burrow, that was the first thing I noticed about him in his videos, his pre/post snap reads and quick decision making along with his accuracy.
