John Paul Funes sent $180,000 to the father of Vadal Alexander by tandrews37
yeah this raised my level of concern from a "1" to a "3".

Still not at Ole Miss or UNC or Miami levels of blatant disregard for the rules though.

Miami players with Shapiro got free steak dinners, boat rides, entrance into night and strip clubs . Nothing whatsoever like giving a prospects family 180k

Thanks Brodie. I hear there's some trouble in yalls locker room. I hope things settle down. Malik's a good kid from a good family

Receivers are sick on rosier sh*t and im sure the rest of the team is too.
This is the 4th straight performance in the 40% range

Miami fan here

Been on the board since July, good game LSU fans. As you can see Miami’s receivers are very talented but our qb is arse....
quote:

For one thing, the two guys they lose, #52 LT McDermott and #73 LG Darling, were by far the most effective blockers in my opinion, and for another I never saw a third tackle getting any reps so it’ll be an untested OT taking over

This couldn’t be any further from the truth lol. Darling routinely got beat and after a solid freshman year he was horrible after that. McDermott was solid for most plays but routinely got beat badly 2-3 plays throughout a game which is what you can’t have.
Against elite competiton on defense Miami actually (clemson, Wisconsin , va tech, Notre Dame, FSU) Miami actually averaged 161 rushing yards per game. Much is made about Miami’s oline but it’s largely unwarranted honestly. They had their lapses but when playing good competion the line performed good outside of clemson who has a beastly front and may be the best ever in college football
quote:

QUESTION FOR MIAMI FANS I’ve seen some enthusiasm about how much of last year’s tackle production is returning on defense, but … I don’t know. I think the incredibly disruptive d-line was mostly responsible for that (whether they’re officially credited the tackle stat or not) and were the reason why the back-seven were able to play as wild and loose as they did and produce all those turnovers. Now that they’re mostly in the pros and the center of gravity when it comes to experience shifts to the boom-or-bust (and a lot of the latter) linebackers, what to you think of the possibility the defense takes a scary step back this year?

The people who left combined for only 16.5(43 total last year) sacks and 42 tfls (110) which is 37% tfls and 38% sack production gone which isn’t a lot and we rotate our entire front 7 so the guys behind them have played extensively. Miami will have an even better pass rush which is pretty scary considering they led the country in sacks per game last year
quote:

Baically he was really good against weak defenses. Against really good d's, he chokes. You say he is a gamer, i say when he goes against top notch d's, he folds and chokes. He is a 55% passer. From high school to college. I would assume the scouting report is he chokes under pressure and folds. Everyone is saying he is improved but i doubt that. Once a 55% completion passer, always a 55% completion passer. It is kinda like a basketball player that cant shoot freethrows. They will always not be able to shoot freethrows. Same with QB's and accuracy. Two great defenses, it will come down to which QB performs better. I am going to go with intelligent accurate QB (his MO) vs Cant hit the side of the barn when pressured Rosier.

Actually he didn’t play against that many weak defenses and made plays in every single game outside of the last 2. Va tech had the 12 defense in the country last year and he had over 200 yards passing 85 yards rushing 3 tds.
List of defenses rosier played against

And he doesn’t choke under pressure I dont know where you get that from. Made several Comeback wins and I’m not sure we win those games if it wasn’t because of him. Leading 2 tds scoring drives vs Georgia tech late in the 4th (by the way Miami was without 5 Starters in that game)in a monsoon basically it was pouring at the stadium. 2 late scoring tds vs FSU and finished the game hot vs an elite FSU defense that had 3 5 stars in the secondary 3 more other ones in the front 7 And he did it WITHOUT our star receiver Ahmmon Richards and starting running back mark Walton on the field in the 4th quarter. Also came back va uva too late in the season. Folding under pressure is not what Rosier does period. He finished the season bad but really the whole team did not just him

Plus you got to see what he does with a full allotment of receivers as Ahmmon Richards who is an elite wide receiver was not healthy at all last year even in the 7 games he played. He makes the offense that much more dynamic.

Rosier still put up 3200 yards passing 26 tds 14 ints 470 rushing yards 5 rushing tds while not having his number 1 receiver healthy, #1 running back out for the season and also being a first year starter. Should be interesting what he does with this years offensive weapons.

quote: Y’all are severely underestimating LSU’s defense. FIFY

Thing is y’all are replacing like all but 4 starters on defense. Yes y’all are very talented on defense but that doesn’t mean Miami’s isn’t very talented on defense either and The U’s defense overall have more experience and production. I actually Think both defense’s have the edge against the 2 offenses but Miami has an even bigger edge when it’s on defense compared to when LSU’s on defense imo
Y’all are severely underestimating Miami’s defense. They are returning a lot of players who have plenty of experience and they get after the passer better than anyone in the country, it’s a very disruptive defense. Don’t be spooked at Miami offense, it’s loaded and you will see that on Sunday but I digress
All I’ve got to say is I’ve never hated LSU even after than peach bowl in 2006. Miami program was not the same after that but honestly I never Hated the tigers. After this game I still Won’t you all just in the way this season lol. Beat bama and uga when y’all play this year too.
quote:

Miami plays a weak schedule of course stats are inflated

Miami played 7 top 40 defenses in the country, 5 top 25.

Better offenses overall that LSU played against last year on defense...

Clemson #2
Notre Dame #3
Wisconsin#6
Virginia tech #13
FSU
Yeah that’s such a weak schedule
Why do some of you assume Miami defense isn’t good?
Y’all know they led
the country in sacks per game
Top 5 in tfls
Top 10 in yards per play in the country
Lower yards per rush given up than LSU
Lower yards per pass given up than LSU

Only reason why they were ranked #38 in total defense is because of the the amount of plays they defended(14 more than LSU per game).

It’s a bigger disparity when Miami’s defense is on the field vs LSU offense due to lack of experience of LSU compared to when Miami’s offense is on the field as well as LSU’s defense.
Miami played 5 top 25 defenses last year
They score 24 or more in 4 out of 5 of those games even with not having a fully healthy offense . You can say what you wan’t about rosier but the talent surrounding him this year is on a completely different level this year compared to last. Jeff Thomas has taken the next step, Ahmmon Richards is back fully healthy and he’s one of the top 3 receivers in the country if healthy. Travis homer is a beast with elite level athleticism and runs tough. Have 2 true freshman tight ends but they are freaks who ain’t supposed to run like that at the position. Immediate impact guys
quote:

Bandy is legit. He's their best corner.. one who was heavily recruited by LSU. I wouldn't be so confident to try him all night

2nd best. 1st team All Acc Michael Jackson is our best cb but bandy definitely had a good year as a freshman
quote:

I didn't expect him to start over Homer, but him not even being listed is a surprise. Also their 2 starting defensive ends are really light at 265 and 250

That’s actually pretty standard size for 4-3 defensive ends
yes the competition overall was more competitive in the last 6 games buts it’s hard to glean anything from it imo, Yeah he’s inaccurate at times but he was ALL the way off unlike anything we had seen from him in the season. He had a shoulder injury on his throwing shoulder vs UNC so I’m sure it affected him quite a bit. Everyone is saying he’s healthy and better now so I guess We will see on Sunday
quote:

Last year they had the 60th worst pass D and like 45th run D. Total D in the 50’s. While LSU was in the top 15 . But Miami fans think they bring some dominant D and our offense can’t handle their pass rush yada yada. As if we don’t face better defenses week in and week out. Now with the new offense we probably make their D look better than it is but Imo the Defense forces 3 TO’s that give LSU short fields.

-Miami was top 10 in the country in yards per play
-#1 in sacks per game
-top 5 in tfls per game
- lower yardage per carry given up than LSU defense
- lower yardage per pass given up than LSU
- only reason why Miami was ranked #38 in defense was because of the amount of plays the defense defended. When you play 170 more plays than a defense like let’s say LSU of course you would give up more yards.... Miami also played more faster paced offenses which attributed to the amount of plays extra they played.

Y’all are in for a rude awakening if you think you will just walk all over Miami. It’s MUCH more of a mismatch with Miami defense vs LSU offense compared to LSU defense vs Miami offense. Inexperienced players at oline, rb, receiver, qb for LSU, new offensive coordinator against Miami’s experienced defense? Good luck with that...

Should be a be good game but I dont See any credibility of this blowout nonsense
quote:

Your offense was garbage last year against good defenses, especially your QB. This will be the best defense you have seen. If you can't run the ball, you are toast. Hey, don't believe us, that's cool. They play soon anyway. Lsu is more talented than Miami. They are essentially playing a road home game with majority of fans. If lsu loses this game, it will be a long year for them.

This isn’t true, Miami played 8 top 50 (7 of the top 40) defenses last year, yes they had a bad performance vs Clemson but made plenty of plays against everyone else.

Once again fans hiding behind recruiting rankings, that’s not the end all be all. Have you seen how much nfl talent Miami has right now on its defense and offense for next years draft? It’s a lot
Miami loaded

And for your info Miami outrushed Wisconsin in the bowl game too and averaged more than 6 yards per carry, it won’t be a problem
I’m confused didn’t malik rosier and Miami put up 14 points 200 yards in the first quarter vs Wisconsin who had the #2 defense in the country and finished with 24 points without its top 3 offensive weapons but Miami won’t move the ball against LSU? Not to mention Miami has more depth now and is healthier with their star receiver Ahmmon Richards back and rosier’s shoulder is healed.

Honestly think the Miami’s defense vs LSU’s offense is more of a mismatch than LSU’s defense vs the U’s offense to be honest. Miami is returning a lot of pieces on offense from last year that have experience and added a lot of elite weapons. Not to mention richt and the staff are very confident on the 1st team oline who have improved a lot.

Why do you all keep posting that pic that’s 10 years old of Miami’s stadium?
