Back in 03, when we faced OU for the BCSNC, OU came into the game with all the accolades, all the hardware, and were being heralded as one of the best teams ever in the media prior to them losing their championship game, and LSU beat them, reminding them that desire and heart wins big games, not awards and opinions. OU was cocky and i thought to be drinking their own koolaid so to speak.
As long as LSU comes into this game with their heads screwed on properly and show that same hunger and desire in their play like they have the entire year, I feel VERY confident in our chances for this game. I think they will, as they have some pretty mature and focused players on this team and they all know they have a lot to prove here. Burrow might be one of the most focused and determined of them all, but I think they all get it.

what I hate is the 2093485723409587123409812347 press conferences these kids have to do, it's ridiculous and leads to this type of bullshite. Let the kids practice, and the coaches deal with press. (also it's too long between games, but I understand why).

Yes, it is alarming. If the players lack focus and intensity and hunger, we will lose and this whole season will have been for naught.

I wouldn't call it overconfidence. They have shown that they mean what they say and are very capable.

I don’t know about alarming, but a loss makes this season a much bigger fail than 2011.

I agree. We are playing a team with a bunch of guys who have been in this game before, a Heisman caliber QB that has one big games at two power 5 schools an excellent coaching staff, improved defense, very good offense and many intangibles and highly recruited football players. Do I expect to win? of course. But I am old enough to remember when OU went into a bowl game with Arkansas. OU was loaded. Arkansas had a bunch of suspensions. OU with Thomas Lott at QB, Elvis Peacock, Billy Sims, David Overstreet at RB. Heavy favorite going in. Arkansas won 31-6. If the Tigers play like they have played all year we should win. But being overconfident and talking is not necessary.

What you’re seeing is more of that. This is a dialed in, extremely focused, team on a mission. Overconfidence isn’t an issue.

This team is the number 1 seed after facing loads of criticism and doubt all season long. Chase is the Blinkindink award winner and he's acting like it. I have no issues with his comments.
Queen on the other hand, should probably take a more humble approach. No one on our defense (albeit the DBs) should talk smack after that Ole piss game
