IF Jordan and Yeskie are at LSU next year and beyond, then it is only a matter of time that JJ goes the way of Maineri. They are not the best we can do as asst coaches and their product on the field this year has proven that quite clearly to anyone that isn't looking in the past and trying to justify their performance this year. It is simply pitiful.

Apparently you don’t sleep well unless you can lobby for someone to get fired. Why does that give you so much energy? Were you that passionate with your praise during Jays CWS title runs?

By “the past” you mean going all the way back to 2025? Because LSU won that title on the back of the pitching staff.

Yes, and I currently very bullish on LK and WW as well.

Things are looking up at LSU, but that doesn’t excuse what we witnessed this year.

We need to all agree on what the expectations are for next year for JJ to remain and continue a very successful career at LSU.

You and your gaggle of retards aren’t going to ever have realistic expectations.

I’ve proven that across multiple threads when all you’re asking is for something that no other program is doing, as the minimum.

We aren’t looking for realistic expectations; we’re looking at defining unacceptable performances that could lead to a needed change.

2 losing seasons (SEC) in a row without making a regional seems “realistic” enough for me.

“Needing a change” after 2 titles in 5 years is not realistic.

2 titles in 6 seasons is more than enough to weather bad seasons for me.

It’s funny you never mention the titles, only the “bad” seasons.

You can have Sully if you want him. Enjoy 1 title is 19 seasons, but hey, at least he never missed the tourney, right?

It's not about just national championships... It's about fielding an l l s u caliber team, which this is not even close to... It's about being competitive with the worst of teams.Which this team has not been. Something is very very off this year.

You do understand that all coaching jobs in today’s game are not the same as even 2019 due to roster limitations and the MLB shortening the draft not to mention NIL.
If LSU wants to keep getting elite players from the portal, shut up or put up.
Gone are the days of stockpiling talent and developing it.
It’s open season with your current atarters and any bench players. Pretty simple.
LSU was an injury to one pitcher from making the playoffs. With Brown and Evens full strength, they are in.

For once I just want you to list the alternative.

What coach do you prefer over Jay?

Maybe, while you're thinking (googling) of the answer to that question, you'll realize how stupid all of these "fire da corch!" threads are.

Winning 2 of 3 in this era is also historically good.

What bothers me so much about this year was the evaluation for guys in the portal

What bothers me the most is this team was better than it was coached to be. We left a lot of victories on the field with an inordinate amount of bad decision-making in-game.

That rubs me wrong as well and explains all the close game losses.

We have a horrible record in the 1 or 2 run difference games which is all on the coach.

In what world does this make sense? No one in any position to make a decision on coaching knows or cares what “we all agree” on. About anything. Please don’t take yourself so seriously.

Why did you start here?

To illustrate how infrequent it has been for LSU to miss the NCAA Tournament since Skip first became HC. I think most would consider LSU baseball prior to Skip mostly irrelevant.

But it you prefer to bump things back, it will be only the 5th time in 41 years, since 1985 (Skip's second season), that LSU missed the Tournament. Either way, the point is that barring a miracle this will be a historically bad season relative to what many would consider the modern era of LSU baseball. Right now this team is tied with Maineri's first team in 2007 for the fewest wins (29) in a season. Any way you frame it, it has been one of the worst seasons since the majority of fans started paying attention to baseball with any degree of interest.
