Maybe it wasn’t being in Omaha. It’s all money.

Missing out on some big prospects right now to opposing sec schools.

Maybe just maybe we offered what someone was worth and someone else overpaid.

This should probably be on the recruiting board, but who exactly are you referring to?

Why are you ignoring the 2 commits we got last week? LSU wasn’t the only school recruiting them.

Bino Watters going to Texas is the main one.

Brody Trosclair was hurt that we didn’t offer him out of HS. HIs younger brother commenting all over twitter kinda looking foolish.

Holy shite. Feels the need to start a thread bitching about losing a player.

Can't spell the guys first or last name.

Maybe kids saw the questionable in-game adjustments that lead to multiple “up 7-2 only to lose 13-9” losses and decided to look elsewhere?

Or maybe we offered the same and the kid chose another school.

Or maybe we offered more and the kid still chose another school.

None of those things are overly concerning.

Does the OP think LSU needs to be the absolute top spender to win?

If you're going to bitch about potentially losing a player, at least get his name right.

Some posters have inferred as much from Jay’s comments on revenue share.

Brody would have never ever got an offer from LSU out of high school. For goodness sake he ended up at Northwestern State

I think the real question is how he didn't go to Southeastern when his dad and two uncles played there.

I really do believe with the high school talent we recruit, we should be able to develop and compete at a level equal to teams full of transfers. I'll take a quality one or two transfers that are staples in a lineup or a pitching rotation, but a solid group of year 3 juniors/ year 4 seniors create very solid teams. Those scrappy mid major teams full of juniors and seniors is proof every year that the model still works. Recruit the best, develop them, then finally fill the gaps with transfers. You can't create a culture if your team's core leans on a transfer.

Feels like we don't really take advantage of the level of talent we bring in from the freshman classes. Yes, we have the standouts that produce year one, but the real value of a strong class comes in the years to come. We can't let these guys come here, develop, polish up their game just to roll out and produce else where. Keep them here, give them those long leashes like the transfers get, and collect on your investments.
