re: “You know what you have right after you lose a game.”

I didn’t want to be the one to correct that but yea, he said it last year either after their first loss or before the season. CJJ mentioned it on Mikd Up a while back. It’s a simple concept really, what do you have when shxt hits the fan? That’s what wins titles.
I ended up booking a tee time at Silverado. It is right next to where we're staying and looks like a decent course. They say its pretty short and I should get through in a reasonable amount of time.
Scottsdale - The Short Course or Rolling Hills?
Posted by ThreeYYYz on 2/11/26 at 9:13 am
Headed to Scottsdale next week, looking to play a quick round at one of these short courses. Rolling Hills seems to have very cheap daytime rates due to their focus being night golf, which is not an option for me. The Short Course - Mountain Shadows is still +$100 for 18 on a par 3 course which seems high to me but it looks like a cool experience that may be worth it.
Anyone have any opinions on these? Is Rolling Hills even worth playing in the day time?

Hand up. That's on me. I totally missed a day of scrimmages. :dope:
I'll be better.
I do feel like we have a good sense of the rotation though.
Friday Evans, Saturday Moore, then Sunday Williams or Schmidt.

I must have missed that. In that case Schmidt and Willams are most likely in a battle for Sunday, IF Williams gets the start tomorrow. Williams will have a slight edge in my opinion just to have a lefty in the rotation.

Whoever starts on the mound with the starters tomorrow I think we know our rotation.
Evans - Fri
Schmidt - Sat
Moore/Williams - Sun

Explain to me how smart and well thought out 18-21yr olds are? Its booze and women. Sprinkle in a little feeling of community, an 18 year old in a new place living away from home for the first time has little to no shot against these temptations.
Its easy to say "thats so stupid" as a grown person.

I have a genuine question from someone who hasn't watched an LSU basketball game since Tyrus Thomas played the Final Four year.
Do we actually have the caliber of talent necessary to do well in the SEC? As a baseball and football fan, I can tell every year that the guys we roll out there are all on par with the talent in the SEC. There are teams that you can tell just haven't been able to get the talent on campus and they get exposed every year. Are we an attractive enough place for high level bball players to commit to?

re: Why do pros not just have one divot mark?
Posted by ThreeYYYz on 1/16/26 at 8:47 am to 21JumpStreet
They move the ball slightly back on the same line. They want to take a divot every shot. If they did what you are saying they would take one divot on the first shot then pick every ball clean on all the following shots. Only Tiger doesn't take divots and thats only when he's hitting it well...IYKYK

College baseball is like watching the MLB from late August through October. Its all the best parts of MLB without 100 extra boring meaningless games. The fans are engaged from opening day to the final out of every season. These dudes are also throwing 100 mph and hitting +430' bombs with metal bats. It is just a more entertaining brand of baseball.
Can you blame a goopa for goopin?
Figured I'd comeback here to update you all.
My Takomo 101t's came in last week. I have been slammed at work but today during lunch I ran over to the driving range to hit them.
I have not hit a golf ball so terrible in my entire life. I could have had the best clubs money could buy and still would have learned nothing today. I dug a hole big enough to bury myself in. Every single shot was fat, mud spraying in my face, wrist hurting like a sumnabitch.
Stay tuned as I will bravely take these terrible feels to the course this weekend. All in all the clubs looked good in the bag as I made myself look like an idiot right in front of it.
Golf is fun, now I'm pissed and back at work.

UCLA will get praises all year for blowing out the west coast... none of it matters, CWS runs through the SEC.
quote:Assuming that's Reaves' Dad or something, no. Reaves had an easy exit but he stayed, Jay praised him over the fall. That all adds up.
tad, is that you?!?
Why are you so high on Dardar? Serious question. Just genuinely curious.
quote:
No Dardar?
He could very well beat out Reaves at 2nd. But opening day I think Reaves gets the nod.
quote:
I don't think your first favorite fatty will be starting opening day.
I am worried about that so I am campaigning for him a little here but I am not blind to the facts. We brought in 2 transfers at his two positions 1st and 3rd. So I am giving him the DH spot until Jay says otherwise.
quote:Not sure I get it?
LMAO....................
6 almost 7 of the 9 guys listed here are locks to start opening day.
Pitching Rotation Prediction
Friday - Evans
Saturday - Williams or Schmidt
Sunday - ??? (Cowan, Noot, Sheerin)
First out of Bullpen: Rizy, Guidry, Benge
I have not seen or heard much about the transfer/freshman class guys. I know we have some dudes that will emerge as we get closer to conference play. Also CJJ has stuck with his strategy of having a basketball team in the bullpen. These guys are large, and throw very hard.

re: Baseball - Preseason Scrimmages
Posted by ThreeYYYz on 1/9/26 at 12:58 pm to Glizzy_gang
Harden is a name I have heard to be on the lookout for. Him beating out Stanfield would be his only shot for the outfield. That being said Stanfield has been playing SEC baseball feels like since Skip was coaching so that can be a tall task for anybody.
Baseball - Preseason Scrimmages
Posted by ThreeYYYz on 1/9/26 at 11:34 am
Do we know the dates of any preseason scrimmages or anything? I am ready to start seeing some line up predictions.
I'll start.
Curiel - CF - OBP and Speed - STUD
Brown - RF - OBP Speed and Pop - STUD
Yorke - 1B - Second Favorite Fatty
Arrambide - C - Breakout Season - STUD (loading...)
Pearson - DH - First Favorite Fatty
Caraway - 3B - Can he stay hot from last year? Barely know her
Milam - SS - Best SS in baseball, does well at bottom of order - STUD
Reaves - 2B - Due for breakout season
Stanfield - LF - Speed and OBP (ugliest swing in baseball but somehow works)
