Perhaps, but Woodward fired him because Wade is not his guy. Woodward did nothing to fight for Wade or defend LSU in the context of keeping Wade as the head basketball coach. That is/was an observable fact.

At best Woodward did nothing to defend LSU in the context of keeping Wade and at worse participated with the NCAA to flame the media firestorm to provide Woodward with plausible deniability to fire Wade.

Just note, not once did Woodward publicly support Wade. That behavior speaks volumes IMO. It telegraphs the fact that Woodard is/was not a Wade fan and it's a simple logical conclusion that Woodward wanted Wade out.

The story is true about him getting fired over the phone and the players finding out on Twitter.

This says a lot. What a professional way to conduct business.

SW and LSU desire to be in the position to say "none of those coaches work here anymore" to the NCAA when negotiating penalties for lack of institutional control.

In Woodward's defense this is probably the best reason to have fired WW.

But going forward SW needs to have a less of a cuckish relationship with the NCAA.

It's actually not an observable fact at all. It's a desperate attempt to deflect from the observable fact that the NCAA has proof that WW violated their most serious restrictions on 8 separate occasions, which will put LSU basketball in a much worse position than the moderate success Wade brought.

Notice of Allegations =/= proof.

Just saying. It is the biggest illogical leap almost everyone is making and I know proof is not needed to fire Wade. Allegations are sufficient.

I don't believe Woodward folded to the NCAA. Given Woodward's close relationship with the president of the NCAA he worked with the NCAA to get Wade fired. I do however believe that if Wade was Woodward's guy he would have fought for him. But Wade had two things going for him, his players and LSU fans and he had major forces against him, Woodward, Tate, NCAA and media.

Oh sure.

Scott Woodward is going to put his own multi-million dollar a year job at risk and fire a winning basketball coach and bring in a “geriatric” losing coach—for no other reason than some personal grudge against Wade.

I swear, you Wade cultists make the Orgeron cult look like a collection of Albert Einsteins.

We lost a good one, no doubt.

Woodward could've handled it better. He just loves a trainwreck in his own front yard and then points the finger at the last guy.

No doubt he was building something and I have no doubt that other coach built up powerhouse programs using the same methods as Wade but when you knowingly break the rules, you have to learn to cover you're tracks. LSU gave him a shot and he messed up. Kind of a "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." situation.

What about the student-athletes? They completely failed in that aspect.

or you have no clue what SW knew and what was going on behind the scenes...it's more likely SW thought for fricks sake look at the shite show I have been dealt and how can we (LSU) come out of this with the fewest penalties and embarrassment possible. Good AD's don't fire successful coaches they let them run their programs and keep generating revenue for the University...money matters more to an AD then "he is not my guy"

Because Woodward knows way more about this shite than anyone who posts here.

Its not a conspiracy against Will Wade. This year, y'all blamed the Refs, he SEC, Media, Woodward, Tate... Everyone but the guilty party.

I love will wade. I am sad things went south but it was his fault. I really was happy when coach wade took the job and I knew after year one that we had something special on our hands.

It is sad he can never be our coach again but I really am going to miss him. Klingler will always think about what might have been.

I wish coach Wade the best of luck in his future.

It's a made up story. People are eating it up because it's what a lot of people want to believe. This idiot has been banned for his fake connections before. He didn't talk to Wade.
