If Wade had not recruited like all of those other "successful" coaches he would have been fired this week, but for another reason.

I agree with you. My concern now is that the new contractor hired to build the house has pretty shitty experience when building houses so it is a valid concern that our next house may have serious issues despite it having a pretty paint color and mailbox

Not sure if your contractor reference was meant for the next coach or Woody. I think, by looking at performance to date, Woody is trying to build excellence in every sport. If he lays a bomb on MBB, then that's totally on him to correct or depart.

Even Woodward and Tate don't believe this:

I interpret this differently. I feel the negativity expressed wasn't a reference to the media but to knowing an investigation was underway. Dealing with the NCAA and game planning possible scenarios of how to deal with possible outcomes.

I'm sure it was a pain for the administration to deal with...but your customer base (i.e. the fans) sure as hell weren't worried about any "negativity", evidenced by the fact they were showing up a basketball games in larger numbers that in years past.

Yes, others at cocktail parties may have looked at LSU athletics in a "negative" light. But who the frick cares as long as you are winning? Many can all pretend they and college sports sit on some moral pedestal because it is "amateur athletics". WHAT.A.JOKE. College football and basketball aren't a "fun scholastic extracurricular". It is a multi-BILLION dollar entertainment BUSINESS. Don't believe me? Take a gander at the $3 BILLION TV contract the SEC just signed. Or, when you watch the NCAA Tournament tomorrow, just know the arbiters of "amateur" athletics, the NCAA, will generate approximately $750 million from that event.

So your competitors turn their noses up at yo. Who cares? The bottom line is the ROI.

It will be the “biggest regret of his life” what happened at LSU and not being able to complete the mission to bring a natty home to LSU and awaken the sleeping giant that is LSU basketball.

He was looking forward to raising his kids as LSU fans. That LSU basketball deserves a winner.

People will believe anything if it supports their mythology. This is pure fiction.

Yup, yet another post with ZERO actual unknown info, filled with crap anyone could glean from the situation.

-Wade is heartbroken
-Wade loved LSU
-Wade close to a Natty

NO shite Sherlock. Funny how all the info that would be new and not common knowledge is masked with "I won't say here but...blah blah blah"

Dude is a shill.

You've thought of everything! Wade is actually innocent due to this one line that doesn't say they don't think he's guilty. Perhaps they wouldn't have fired him if that was the case!

And that is the crux of the issue. The administration knew more - lots more - than the fans and envisioned the shitstorm awaiting. The burden and pressure of deferring action on WW while awaiting a glacial NCAA action IS exhausting. And evidently everyone knows there's more than JUST winning. It's in HOW you win.

Wade fricked up, but he did what he was hired to do. And we toss him under the bus for doing what we hired him to do. Sorry, that is gutless. Stand behind your guy, work through the issues with the NCAA. LSU took the easy way out, this is just how the world works now though.

SW and LSU desire to be in the position to say "none of those coaches work here anymore" to the NCAA when negotiating penalties for lack of institutional control.
They knew it was coming and decided on their defensive position mid 2021. I said it 2 weeks ago, this is a mess and SW will clean it up like he did the others.

It's the smartest position for LSU to put itself in when contemplating the future of the athletic program and if WW hadn't done what he did he wouldn't have gotten caught up in the clean up process. End of story.
